If this site is in fact an ad campaign it's awful. At this stage it seems like a student project to which no one committed. I also wish they would use the term 'wtf' more, that would mostly improve it, mostly.

I recently left Shadow on the floating continent in ff6 never to see him again, I wasn't going to betray another ally for the sake of a reload or whatever punishment the game could lay on me for my pacifism .

Would have been cool to see a different treatment within the game based on that decision though, missed opportunity I think. Also how much of a dick is Talbot, great villain.

I really enjoyed the third game, I was however slightly disappointed at the lack of a final battle so to speak. I feel however that this is perhaps indicative of intentional design decisions throughout the entire game and sentiments that can be found echoed in various facets of the UC 3 'experience'.

For example the main villain is less a maniacal person driven by violence to satisfy their greed and lust for power but instead the game opts for an antagonist that satisfies a point of adversity driven through Nathan's past. Various references are made to mind games and the cerebral impact that Marlowe has on Drake especially.

Without spoiling anything the enemies towards the end of the game and the various sequences that deal with isolation and other more left field characterisations of Drakes trials all play on this. The supernatural element is handled in a way that is a reflection of the internal predominantly or as its impact is in fact felt, in a more unobtrusive way. This is key in to me in differentiating this game from the second allowing it to stand toe to toe and perhaps a inch or two taller in some respects.

All these decisions were bold and make for a less radical game on the surface but I personally feel serve the series far better than a brash attempt at a simple upstaging would have been. On balance I think they did a fantastic job serving those who have played the previous games, there is something new here that the second game didn't necessarily offer. That was a damn fine game too though, It's all win win baby.

Great story once again Patrick, you continue to bring the important news to the bomb shelter.

Regarding Skyrim I think I'm going to continue holding off even if the price tag has dropped to £22.50 at my local game retailer. I just can't justify any purchase of this game when there really is no guarantee it will ever run well on a ps3 and certainly not my ancient,no doubt slowly dying 40GB model.

While this game sounds incredible, considering it for game of the year was always going to be a dividing question. I think it comes down to what the whole point of game of the year is. I just wonder if this game were to be awarded GOTY within any category or by any media outlet would it be a disservice to us as gamers and the paying public. By accepting this as the best video games had to offer in 2011 surely we would be condoning the shipping of what many consider a broken game and would surely be encouraging this kind of development.

Then again to those who have played the game without completely game breaking issues they may well consider it the best game they've played over the twelve months. I personally feel however GOTY should represent all gamers and certain boxes must be ticked in order for a game to be considered, one of which would be that the game can be played through to the end. Perhaps an honourable mention is all it should receive when you hear some of the cautionary tales, F*** playing 60 hours of a game to find that's all she wrote. I mean she wrote more.

@Turambar: Yes, Dagger = retarded name
maybe in japanese dagger doesn't sound so harsh and blunt but to me it has the ring of word such as 'table', there is no poetic nuance that alludes to some comment on a female character with the name of a deadly weapon.  Just the name 'table'...... or 'dagger' as the case may be.

I really liked FF9 though probably my favourite in the series.  Was filled with a world to explore and side quests to get distracted by with plenty for you to see off the trodden trail all the things i appreciate in an RPG.

Tommy Vercetti for me but there are so many great characters throughout the franchise, Roman Bellic is another favourite.

Theres plenty of good content on the site, and the video content is obviously very popular.  i personally watch the endurance runs while doing work with the vid on in the background, i find it entertaining but i can admit if i watched it with my complete undivided attention i would perhaps not watch them so often.  Without dick sucking i can say i have come accustomed to the guys at GB's humour and i know what to expect every episode isn't a classic but with reasonable expectations for what it's worth i come back and watch the others and come away entertained if sometimes only for the jokes thinking this is kl i will probably never play this game it's interesting to see it being played.  I mean after all isn't that how the endurance run started they wanted to play the game but had no time in their personal lives for a jrpg like P4 so decided to do it at work.

While you may not enjoy it (completely understandable) I can't say i agree with the point that other content suffers because of it, the episodes are not that long (everyone gets a break at work) and they appear from the comments made by the team not to take up much time and there are some people that have come to really appreciate their efforts to keep the ER content regular thus giving the team the incentive to prioritise to an extent their efforts.  There's content on the site i don't view because i don't feel it relevant to a site that covers video games or rather what i need to be drawn back to the site but i understand that some people obviously do view it otherwise it wouldn't still be there.

Everyone has an opinion as a user and a right to criticise for comparison of alternative opinions and then subsequent discussion, i mean we're the market after all.  Things such as the ER are just the cherry on the top for me and i understand not everyone likes cherries, or even cake but dammit who cares when there's ice cream and after all thats why we're here.
