Sorry if this has been dealt with elsewhere. I am interested in reading more longform articles by users. These seem to be mainly in the form of blogs, but I can't seem to find a way to search for blogs or to list popular or new blogs. I figure I am probably being vague, if so, any help would be great. If there are no such features (I am aware of the site rebuild underway), can people recommend any blogs from the site? I am fairly open minded as to content, just looking for some more indepth writing about games by people who are passionate about them. Cheers.
'that' dead island trailer has taken the world by storm. I know at least one person who got the game based on that and had a full WTF? after about 20 minutes.
anybody got any other classic cases of the carpet not matching the curtains? kane and lynch 2 was a big one for me... trailers were so intense, gameplay was so... just like kane and lynch 1
looks a bit like space miner ore bust or whatever its called for the iphone, but with much more game under the hood. Punch that equation into the brainulator and the answer always comes out as awesome (or possibly siknutz).
Difficult decision between this and Bastion. Did think about waiting for inevitable price drop, but small studios need the cash.
The great thing about being a grown up, I can just get both!
if you don't like the micromanagement of deus ex, the gunplay of halflife, the rusting source engine or user mods in general, this is not for you. This is one for the PC nerds, and we love it so far!
dude, first of all, commiserations, not getting the dream job is always demoralising. the only advice i have is don't give up! every single person who you met during your interview would have been in your shoes before. everybody has to eat a shit sandwich at some point, (but that doesn't make it taste any better!). Keep chipping away at it, don't just apply to whisky media, apply everywhere in your area, i'm not from SF or even the states, but just by listening to the podcast I could tell you 5 or 6 similar companies in that area that sound like cool places to work. send out one resume every day, or send a follow up e-mail everyday. Spread the net wide, and be prepared to be disappointed over and over again, but you will get there. Never give up!
