This game will be the best FPS to hit the shelves in a long time. IF, and only if, there is enough post release support; IE, weapon balancing, bug abuse prevention, and Paid DLC.
I got my Pro-order from Gamestop. But only because I had 150 bucks on my Gamestop Rewards cards. Otherwise I probably would have gotten it from Amazon.com or Best Buy: One of the two pre-orders that give you an exclusive weapon.
" This is a joke! The game has not even been shelved and they are already planning for the DLC? Just include them in the damn game or don't mention them at all. "
I'm afraid you're a bit late to the whole DLC-on-disc-day-one rage party. It's already happened several times on other fighting games. "
And that is supposed to make it better?
I am not late, I am as aggravated now as I was then. Game companies are capitalizing on DLC by withholding content to sell at a later date for more money. It is an insult to both us and the idea of DLC. The Downloadable Content is there to keep the game fresh. Not to turn each gamer into an internet ATM.
@Ahmad_Metallic: Oh yea! No Guns! Every one will be armed with chains and switchblade knives. And instead of fighting, you will get into big choreographed dance sequences West Side Story style. Now it is official, I am buying this game. (Assuming they are in fact removing the GAME from the GAME.)
@Brendan: It is not Conjecture at all. They have said in many interviews that one hit kills will not be in the game. Head-shots will still do significant damage, but they won't drop you instantly. The only one hit kill is from a fully upgraded Sniper rifle head-shotting a Light Body Type. The Grenades do a significant amount of damage as well, but it will not be like in Call of Duty where you can clear a room with a single frag. They are more geared toward disorienting the enemy rather then out-right killing them.
I did not hear about the global leader-boards. But I have found that most leader-boards are BS. Either they get hacked or they just show who has the most experience, proving who plays the game more and not show case in relevant skill.
@ShivanCommander: The strengths of the game lay with the team based nature of the game and NOT with the ability to spray and pray for head-shots. Look at Team Fortress 2: The only Head-shot in the game was with the sniper, and that was not always a guaranteed kill. I have not heard that people are canceling their pre-orders. Everyone I have been talking to has known about these features for some time. But if this does mean that more players are bailing on Brink, C'est la vie. The game will be something new, whether for better or for worse. But in my opinion, the industry needs this title. If the IP does not do well, it will be because of reason OTHER then the removal of One-Hit Kills.
