This is more than warranted. I support the stance GB has taken as a result of this moment in time. While I was waiting for the podcast to drop before reading the post on the front page, it can wait.

As I read everyone’s responses, and join in the Greek chorus of compassion, care and consideration, I am proud to be a part of what we all represent as a community here.

There ought not be any misgivings towards the notion of more important matters taking precedence at a time like this, however much more time it requires, even if that means holding off on the release of a podcast.

We’ll all be here, come tomorrow, come next week, come next year, just as we have for years.

Stay safe.

Thanks for the quick responses, guys -- really helpful. Should've looked for synonyms for standoff instead of googling keywords. Happy I got what i was looking for, that doesn't always happen.

No, but it's meaning has a lot to do with a standoff in which no one wins, of sorts, creating blockage. I remember it not being a plain word.

Hey guys,

So, I've been through all corners of my brain, and no dice.

The word I mostly used when talking about warfare, war, battles and combat, whether in real life scenarios or, in some cases in games. From what I recall, it is defined as an outcome in which the playing field is equal on both sides, meaning a constant battle that prevents and blocks either goal from happening each side may have. I've been through Google as well. "No Win Situation" isn't what I'm thinking of, nor "Perpetual War." It's a literal word part of the English dictionary.

The word has been used a lot in reference to strategy games and DOTA.

Any takers? Would more than appreciate it.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the name of the "food," the spelling thereof, that is mentioned on the recent episode during the part they talk about deep frying. "Karkis/Corkis?" Google hasn't made me any favors. Again, excuse this rather ignorant question on my part. Had just never heard of it before.

There isn't anything technically set up that allows for that. Try getting on the podcast's RSS feed, found here http://www.giantbomb.com/feeds/podcast/ , and just ctrl-f keywords or titles that may have been mentioned in the logline, based on topic of interest.

For what it's worth, I could do without a podcast for however long deemed neccesary by the rest of the crew, knowing that they, themselves, can come back confident enough to get on with the show. Certainly, Ryan's absence is going to be felt by us who've been there since day one. I could only imagine what it's like for his friends and colleagues alike, trying to reel from such irreparable damage on this scale, the likes of which I would never have seen coming.

Man, who would've though. All the E3 live shows feel like yesterday, just clicks away, as relevant as anything else. Now, I guess, we can only go back into the past, and celebrate the vast catalogue of everything we've come to love and respect that this great man left behind, in his wake.

Pouring one out for Ryan, as he used to say. You'll be sorely missed by everyone you affected.

Wait, what?? Surreal beyond words. Heart goes out to everyone struck by this unspeakable tragedy that coudn't possible have arrived at a worse time, including Ryan's wife, and all the folks at Giantbomb who had the pleasure of working with Ryan all these years. Truly unfathomable to have even thought about this a few days ago, much less have it happen just like that -- unbelievable.
