Cancelled my Origin pre-order. It is not worth having to put up with such a broken service. So I instead put the money towards a Rage pre-order and the hope that one day EA will pull their head out of their ass.
Can you explain how you did that, exactly? Pre-orders on the Origin store appear to charge your credit card/PayPal for the full amount, much like a Steam pre-sale, with no refunds allowed.
So how did you work around that? Or did you just cancel the pre-order you had... IN YOUR MIND?
No, smartass. It was not "in my mind".
They make it very clear that the charge is only a way to make sure that you have the money available for the pre-order. You are not actually charged until the product is released.
To quote the email:
"Per your request, I have cancelled your order number (-------------) which includes Battlefield 3: Limited Edition. Please note that as your order was a pre-order you have not been charged for the game. If you see any charge for the game, then it's just a pre-authorization charge which will disappear from your credit card in next billing statement."
But what do I know? It was all in my mind.
