First Thoughts...

Just started to play Ninja Gaiden 3 for the PS3. The game looks really good, placed it on the 'Hard' difficulty setting as first word was that the game was easy. So far, about 20mins in I can say that the controls are not as tight as in the previous 2 games and the camera might be a problem. There are no items to collect apparently and your health gauge replenishes after defeating a wave of enemies. Your Ki charges up to release the Fire ninpo and obliterates all enemies on screen and you still have the Ultimate technique to use as well when the Dragon Sword is red stained enough. Will see what the rest offers but I doubt even with these issues the game will be a fail as posted on the IGN review.

I just played NG 1 ( the original, not black nor Sigma) and NG2 back to back. There's little difference with the fluidity of the control response with NG3. Also, NG3 on hard difficulty also just as difficult as NG1 on hard. People should actually retry the previous games before getting all like '' it's too different!!! ''.

As for me, I seriously don't miss the lack of checkpoints, often 10 minutes before bosses who can grapple you and chew off 76% of your health. I also don't miss the useless inventory system and the potions you would chug at lightning speed to assure your survival. Ninpos? They were all the same, except the one with the firing wheels that sucked anyways. Did you really switched between your Ninpos? Come on, don't lie, you didn't.

No seriously guys, go play the old NG's again. Not the Sigma version, the -vanilla- ones. You'll see that NG3 isn't all that bad.

I'm liking it so far. It's simplified in good ways.

Which changes do you consider to be positive? I'm curious, I personally feel all gameplay changed are for the worse. It's still a decent game in it's own right.

I dunno, I'm liking the whole Batman style magnetize to your enemies by just pointing in their direction and attacking. Once you get into a flow, it's constantly doing the finisher style attacks.

In a vacuum the games fine... compared to Black, and even 2 its not really close. I have a feeling Devils Third is the game Black fans are going to love. But NG 3 feels like what they continued to try to do to the sigma versions, but to a farther extent.

I've never had an issue with NG's camera though don't get why people hate it so much.... honestly I had more issues not seeing things in GoW with the camera stuck behind walls

as of right now I dont have time to play video games ( I havn't even played ME3 yet and its killing me slowly). I absolutely loved NG, NG:B and NG2. From what I'v seen this does not seem to be as tight and as smooth as the previous entries.

I will reserve final judgement till I play it; but that might be in a while as there are no rental places still running around where I live and I'm sure as hell not paying 60$ for a game I'm not sure about.

that being said the game doesn't look as bad as some of the hate it is getting, looks like an avg mb +avg third person action game to me.

Why is it so hard for them to fix the camera? Just move it back and up like 10 degrees and it'd be fine. I don't know what the obsession is with smashing the camera right up against the action. Take a fucking cue from Devil May Cry, or something.

I tried it, and it's not what I want from a Ninja Gaiden game. Oh well, I have my memories.
