For some reason I dreamed of the Jersey Devil (monster form) from The Wolf Among Us (or something similar looking) just last night. I Played the game a few good weeks ago, so it's not because it was fresh in my mind or anything.
All I care about is the experience, if the story gels well with the gameplay (however simple it may be) then that's all that matters.
Gameplay is just one element that makes up an experience, saying that it is the most important factor is really lazy and limits the scope of gaming as an entertainment medium. It is an unique and differentiating element of gaming, but focusing on just that is like having a movie with great cinematography but nothing in the way of substance (because you should just go read a book right?), there is a public for that but it's not exploring all the possibilities.
And no, just because someone wants to focus on story and characters doesn't mean he needs to go do movies or TV.
Some of my favorite racing games are MotorStorm and Burnout, and I really like Driveclub (though it doesn't have much in common with them)
The Crew seems like it has a lot of content and if you dig it, there is a lot to dig. But I didn't enjoy the experience so much (the open world is massive and kind of cool to drive through).
Honestly, the massive world of The Crew combined with the visuals of DriveClub would pretty much be the best racing game out there.
Just got i the beta on PS4 and played a few matches. I'm liking this way more then in the big alpha, it was shit on PS4 (at least for me).
Game is shaping up nicely and it's clear that there is something awesome about hunting and being hunted.
So far haven't lost one single match as the monster (Across both alpha and beta), I feel that once i get to level 2 it's kind of tough for the hunters to survive without tactics and better handle of their character, and at level 3 it's pretty much game over. I always sneak as much as possible, and focus on feeding (I priorities Flame breath, then charge, then leap).
For hunters, trapper seems to work the best for me. We had quite a few matches under 7 min thanks to catching the monster early in the arena and just spamming traps on the ground nearby him)
Overall i'm liking the game, but maybe not enough to buy it day 1 or preorder it (which sucks cause I want the 4th monster as well).
Review Scores are like fast food, it's quick and easy to just scroll down and check the score. But don't judge burgers just based on what's at McDonald's.
The biggest "against" argument for scores is the current mentality of the industry, that is willing to modify payment just based on metacritic scores. And even the mentality of most gamers, that dismiss games just based on score.
Also the removal of bragging would be a godsend as well: "Yo this game got a much better score then that game, so by default it's better"
@beachthunder: I never really felt anything for the Deus ex logo, but now that I look at it I kind of like it. It's dated by today's standards but it's a cool logo.
@samfo: The idea behind the RE 6 logo was alright, it's just that the execution was unfortunate lol
Personally I can't think of a really bad one right now, I'l edit if something comes to mind.
