I love that GB have a Sea of Thieves stream! Been playing since alpha and I adore this game, even more after the mega update. While agree that this game has some downtime, this game allows for POSITIVELY HILARIOUS moments with the GBeast Crew. It's a perfect game for Dan to be Dan.
An idea for a SoT stream which would be less time committed, would be for the Crew to try and win an active Skull Fort. Just sail to the big skull cloud in the sky. Then the game becomes a hoard mode of skeleton waves. You keep fighting until you get the skull fort key. The vault holds about 25 to 30k worth of loot. Of course, you have to return to any outpost to try and sell all the treasure hoping other players don't attack you. :)
Oh ya, inside the skull fort vault is the Mega Gunpowder Barrel, which is basically the equivalent of a nuclear bomb. Perfect for the Crews shenanigans.
I really hope they keep playing. Like i said, I know there's downtime but there is a really rewarding game experience in SoT, especially the more you play it and the better you get at it. The fact that other players can troll with them is fantastic. There's really fun moments to be had and captured on stream with this game. Especially with the GBeast Crew.
Brad should check out Mirrors Edge on UPF tonight. Even playing around 25 minutes of the first one would be a nice contrast to the feel and movement of the second. As someone who loved the first game, it would be interesting to hear his opinion.
