I
am an Avid Sony Fanboy Second and a PC Gamer First and Foremost, but
when it comes to consoles I usually enjoy the Sony platform even when
it is in the back of the pack in terms of sales and line-up, so me
being super tech savvy and typing to you on a computer that laughs at
the CryENGINE 2, I almost crapped my pants hearing about a new PSP.
But after sitting and thinking about the Non-UMD focus, not to mention after being excited, my second thoughts were, why?
If the Playstation Store and Digital Technology is in Sony's future why
did they need a new PSP? I hear all these talks all day long about WTF
NO 2ND THUMBSTICK?? But if you think about it, the PSP 3000, and
1000/2000 for that matter, already has access to the PS Network to
download Games to a 16GB platform, in fact making it external makes it
more of a versatile device not to mention the fact that it can play
Digital and UMD formats combined, so second thumbsticks are in the back
of mind wondering WTF?
A smaller screen and confusing button
layout, loss of a UMD Drive for the previously owned content, and
making it so I can't take out my memory or choose a size right for me,
when I already own a platform that can Play digital content, WTF IS THE
POINT!!! This seems to me like they should have just pushed research in
digital content on the PSP-3000 as research for a future PSP with the
second thumbstick and non-UMD Download system to gauge it's popularity
rather than create something that while very sleek and sexy is a
downgrade from the previous versions. What does this dangerous, and
already being shunned by many gamers and critics, move mean for Sony
and it's handheld platform, not to mention the Pandoras Box an all
Digital System will open for Custom Firmware and Piracy.
Thoughts?
