Honestly I really feel SEGA is picking the wrong IP's to bring into this gen.
I mean Golden Axe was never going to work as a retail title, the 2D brawler simply will not sell enough, but obviously going any other direction (a very poor action adventure title in this case) just makes it feel completely lost from the IP.

That said, SEGA owns awesome IP's that would serve incredibly well. A Panzer Dragoon Saga HD remake per example, as one of the least played yet best RPG's of older generation it would be a perfect title.
Burning Rangers is another title that's just perfect for this day and age. A fresh form of action game with 4 player co-op through Live or PSN with unique style and pace.
Obviously Shenmue is another, and personally I think succes of games like Heavy Rain, Yakuza and such show there is a (huge) market for that game, slap in HD remakes on PSN/XBL and you'd be all set. God of War Collection, BG&E HD and soon Team ICO HD collection, MGS HD have shown that people are very interested in HD remakes.

Also with Ninja Gaiden 3 turning into QTE-spamfest this would be the perfect time to bring a new Shinobi to the playing field.

But SEGA also has a huge chance to take in the XBLA/PSN front. As said Golden Axe didn't work as full retail, but a new Golden Axe HD 2d brawler on Live/PSN? Just look at what Castle Crashers did and you'll know that it can sell well. Not to mention an HD version of Streets of Rage 4. I mean just look at how well that fan-made SoR game did.

Honestly I fell SEGA has been making a lot of (really) bad choices over the last years/decade. Cause the IP's and potential is all there, but somehow they just keep failing at delivering them.

Mass Effect 2 is the only game I've bought all the DLC for, still have to do Lair of the Shadow Broker though. Getting some more DLC for this great title can only be a good thing. Even if some of it's DLC was (way too) short.

Usually the highest difficulty setting available. Unless it's Ninja Gaiden. Then I just play it on Normal.

Sure, but I don't think he is in there for that aspect. As you say Strange fills that part very well. The Riddler will be in it for the same reason he was in Batman AA probably. For cool easter eggs, a reason to explore and to fully utilize the new interogation mechanic.
I just think this time your pay off will be to actually get to him in the end. But we'll see in October

He looks great, the Riddler was perhaps my favorite parts of Batman AA. It's the reason I went to 100% complete it

I decided to look at the current state of gaming this day and age. Being a gamer for about 25 years now means I've seen my share of good and bad games. Hype and fanboyism. Evolutions and revolutions in gaming. I've seen gaming going from underground to accepted to mainstream to casual.

In my blogs I hope to put issues up for discussion, not just about games but about gaming in general.
There is some use of profanity in my blogs, so be warned for that

Videogames killed my son, Mass murderer was a gaming fanatic, Violent games make people aggressive....

We all know this stuff from the media. It's gotten to a state that when something awfull happens involving a young male I actually time the period it takes for the first statement is made about videogames. So my question is What is true about it?

Well let me say this. Yes people can get more violent because of games. People can also get more violent from watching movies, reading books (there is a reason why Mein Kampf by Hitler is banned in so many countries), talking to people, driving cars, eating pie and voices in their heads.

The question that is really important is why do we look towards gaming as such an important factor compared to other media and things. Well for one people claim that because you actually do the killing in games whilst in movies you just watch them.

Personally I think it's bullshit. I think it's mainly due to ignorance. Ignorance in the media (the FOX Mass Effect porn-thing comes to mind) and mostly ignorance from parents. For some reason they just don't seem to grasp the notion that videogames aren't kids-toys anymore. With the average age of gamers ranging between 24-30 depending on which research you look up games aren't just for kids. They are adult entertainment.

Developers know this, seeing the many M rated games out there. The ESRB knows this, seeing the many M rated games out there..... So why can't parents see this? If a mom buys her 10 y/o son Saw 4 and the kid has nightmares/behaves aggresive everyone will say Well duh, that movie isn't for kids! Yet when mom goes out and buys GTA4, Dead Space, RE5 or whatever suddenly it's the gaming industry that's at fault?

Speaking of Saw, how come when Manhunt came out the whole world went crazy about a game that Has you do nothing more than killing people gruesomely for the sake of it, it should be banned etc. yet a movie that does the same thing, much more realistic, even more pointless (at least in Manhunt you were killing because you are trying to survive) it's simply a great modern horror movie that has spawned 4 sequels?

The reason is ignorance, simple as that. Because most of these thing are based on hear say. Like FOX and their Mass Effect porn, all involved never played a minute of the game. Or LA Times list of most violent games of which the panel played NONE of the games on the list.

They have no idea what they talk about but it's so easy to point fingers at something rather than to face the fact that maybe society is not as great as people want it to be. That violence is something of all ages and a human thing. Or maybe, just maybe see the fact that they may not be that great parents if they stick little Timmy behind a big TV screen and let him play Grand Theft Auto 4 whilst they go to work or entertain themselves when maybe he should have been taken out to the Zoo with his mom and dad.
