So no post long time. Well had a lot of work past half year. But from now on will try to post on weekly basis, and also will try different approach with posts. From now on I will talk about games I played in this week. So lets get on to it.

This week was Plants vs. Zombies all week long. Got it on Steam sale in holidays for about 3 EUR (Game of the Year edition) (also got for 5 EUR GTA4 and both DLC for it). I was playing it some year and a half ago (time when dancer was Michael Jackson, not Elton John). And again, I was so deep in this game. Still have lot of achievements to go, but hope to get them in next week. Best part is I think the puzzles, where you can play as zombie. Also great new thing is that I can create Zombietar for my Steam or any other place I need to use simple avatar. I create:

So yep, if you see this in Stem, thats me. I think will add to my to do list that I need to change all places with this avatar.

Thinking to restart my WOW subscription too from 1 February. Want to try Cataclysm stuff out. So I think next week I will be finished with all of Plants vs. Zombies, then I have idea of trying out Bioshock. Never had time for it.

Best regards,

Zh

There is no surprise that Windows Live games are coming to Steam. GTA4 also did it.

Preorder exclusively bonus suck monkey balls. And Sony with Killzone have gone even further, the made it like RPG, where you need to choose (in real life) witch pack to get, to get right bonus for first 24h.

Idea for APB was great, but the result in first release -  SHIT. I really hope that second release will be better, but I really dint think so, because it is already set the tone for failure with thing they call re-release (WTF).

Name: Carmageddon on PC

Language: English (I am not USA resident, so sometimes I will play games in other language)

What: Arcade Auto-simulator

By whom: Stainless Games

Money from: SCI

When:  September of 1997

There are no official website of the game, so I just add the Wikipedia  link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmageddon

System requirements: Min - CPU 100 MHz, 32 Mb, Req - CPU 233 MHz, 32 Mb

OK. So I remembered as I was playing this game in 1998. Then I got my new PC with Windows '95 still on it (next year I upgraded it to '98). Then I got on business trip to Germany and bought some games. One was this. This week tried to find it in the attic of my house, but it is gone with the wind I think.

So what did I did? On twitter I heard about site named GOG - Good old Games (http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/). So got there and what? They had some orgies with them self and site was down couple of days. So I searched Internet for some old games. Finally I got it from one of my friends.

So at last with the game I tried to launch it... but of course I have Windows 7 now. So it didn't run. I manage to find solution with DOSBOX (http://www.dosbox.com/) (http://www.maximumpc.com/article/howtos/howto_run_all_your_old_games_using_dosbox_progress). As I run it it runs on little screen in middle of my monitor (this must be of the games resolution), and BAM it asks me for the CD (already in DVD-ROM). OK. So as I checked the files on CD I found that it can be installed on system for use on Windows 95. OK. Lets try this. Installation took about half hour (big game LOL). OK. Now lets run it. IT RUNS. But with some issues of the colors. Everything is really bright. But its runs OK (I only can't read anything because of colors, so I just entered ENTER until the race started).

OK, let get to the game already. First of all, I haven't laugh that in years. Crashing cars and peoples... GTA can go sleep. Every thing in games is really good. Only I dint like the controls, car is controlled with Numpad (this can be problem on laptops), and for brake is key 2 not 5 as it could be on arrow keys. But all in all hearing the sound of announcer in the game "Checkpoint", takes back a long time, nostalgic. Game is time based arcade style, you drive track and clock goes down and you have to reach next check point in time to get advanced time. Of course there is also alternative way - you could drive in open world and crush peoples and competitors to get bonus time. But this is really hards as you could crush your car till its motor brakes and oils is spilling out of car (Game Over situation before time ends). Funny thing is that competition do not drive on track, they are crazy and trying to kill you, pedestrians, and other drivers all the time (does for them there are too the timer??:D). About pedestrians. In the HUD is counter of all pedestrians on track, so you can kill them all (counter counts killed/all). If you play the uncensored version of the game pedestrians are people with real blood, other way it is like in Caramgeddon 2 with zombies and green blood. In the start of the game there is man who shows start flag, he is standing right in the middle of the road (bonus to whom kills him first) as shown in intro movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyWFX0FPhOA).

Definitely one of the funniest games I played lately, except DethSpank. Sorry about no screens or videos, will try to make them and post too, but because of bright color I played game only with one track. So now in my to buy list is old PC where can I launch older games. BTW yesterday the GOG.com came on-line and as I checked in they data base isn't Carmageddon.

As if I forgot something, there always is as Giant-bomb site of the game (http://www.giantbomb.com/carmageddon/61-18394/)
