I know that most of us probably won't be listening to the soundtrack of Battlefield 3 much, but I'm sure some of you are curious of what the latest rendition of the Battlefield theme will sound like. Amazon.com has a listing for the soundtrack of Battlefield 3 with samples of each track.

The heavy use of electronic/synthesized sounds caught me off guard as I was expecting a orchestra or at most a mix of mostly orchestra and some synthesized sounds. I guess the future of video games is in wobble bass and similar sounds.

EDIT: Ah, I didn't notice the thread already made. I can't seem to delete this one.

I think Mario Kart 7 is a cool name. Shame that Nintendo is disavowing Mario Kart Arcade GP and Mario Kart Arcade GP 2.

Already put the pre-order in and I'm also sad and frustrated with all these delays. I wish Sega would just stop jerking us around.

Going on the GTA 2 manual, that means his full name is Claude Speed. God speed, Claude Speed!

Looks like it will be a great third-person shooter like the last two games. It's a shame that you won't be able to carry around an arsenal in your trench coat this time. Also, I assume there won't be modification tools for the PC.

The mantling over rails and other objects can be screwy sometimes. I've had my moments of repeating the animation in front of railing I thought I could go over.

@Crash_Happy: I had the same thought. Electronics Arts use short announcement-to-release windows for downloadable games or box games that are sent out to die. EA's Create comes to mind.

@Crushed said:

Their culture isn't American, so it's dead?

Gaming in Japan is treated totally different than in the West, it's either a time-waster for commutes or a hobby for children or weirdo shut-ins. They either cater to their own culture to find some success, or they fail in the West because the way gaming developed over the last 20 years in Japan caused them to becine somewhat isolated from Western ideas and tastes. Nintendo actually managed to change some of that with the casual stuff, but they can't work miracles.

Hey, I'm sure there's a middle ground between the children and the shut-ins.
