@bane: Shipments are just weightless junk items that break down for large amounts of the resource they are for. Put them in your workbench and they count toward your resource total.
Got on this morning planning to sip some coffee and collect more staff, and as I'm landing the chopper I get a notification saying something along the lines of: "A player you're supporting is being invaded!" Naturally I was excited to play the hero and defend someone's base... But then it occurred to me I had no idea how to actually initiate that! There was no option on the dialog that popped up, nothing in my mission list, FOB list, Relationship list, or anywhere else I'd thought to look.
If you play the first mission again, it will ask you for your birthday again, and you just set it to tomorrow. I have tried this and can confirm it works.
Does extracting equipment like machine guns and mortars from the AO do anything besides remove it from the area? It's kind of expensive to do at around 5,000 credits per gun, but it does look awfully cool. I didn't notice any feedback when doing it as to any possible benefits, and I haven't been back to base in quite some time to see if anything pops up there when I get back.
You can sell those for more GMP than it costs to Fulton them out. It's by no means the fastest way to accrue GMP, but I've just been grabbing every one I see anyway since I can just resupply Fulton balloons anytime I want.
After we had a ton of fun in DayZ, my roommate told me about a game he read about that was coming out soon. It was supposed to be DayZ but better! He gave me a run-down of what the game was going to be and I was so thrilled that I preordered it immediately.
