Love how the first came out, not crazy about the second.

Because when vidya-developers/authors/movie-makers/musicians just do what the masses want, that always ends up great, producing wonderful works of art.  What a horrible sentiment. "
Yes, because beating an IP to death with four games is a great way to stay in business, especially when the first in the series was a critical failure. Not to mention I don't know a single person who played X-2 for longer than five hours. So, taking an IP that's already been negatively tainted, and pushing it on a sequel concept that didn't really work out the first time? Fantastic business model right there.  SE has completely lost touch with what was working for them. Make one or two games in a three year span, and don't revisit it. Move onto the next. Stay fresh and relevant.   "
I agree with all of this, just not the sentiment that their decisions should be based entirely on what will sell to the idiot masses. That's what Activision's for. "
At this point, they have to start catering towards someone. If XIII was any indication how the rest of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series is going to pan out, with its amazing aesthetics and lackluster everything else, why would you keep producing these games? Factor in XIV, a sequel to a game that was past its prime and had an amazing amount of issues that has more issues than the original, and you see SE headed down a really bad path. I would love to see SE keep making games, because they used to be one of my favorite developers, but if they don't put out something critically acclaimed that people really want to play soon, they are going completely piss away their prestige or go bankrupt by funding ideas that won't sell.

The same thing happened with Xenosaga.

@TheUnpopularGamer: No, XIII wasn't terrible, but it was bad enough that I don't want to play another game in that series.

Also, games aren't art. Actually, making games that people want to play is kind of important.

Along with XIV, this is going to be a banner year for them.

This.

Also, I'd like to see a retro-review segment. Take a game a couple of generations old, put it through the paces, and re-review it with today's standards in mind. I think it'd be cool to see what games have really withstood time, and what hasn't.

And Ryan, an editor of a video game news website, told us the last date to pre-order the special edition of a video game that they were giving away in limited quantities. I think the problem here is you thought, "Hey, this is an ad!" and not, "Oh, cool, I was looking to pick up DA2. Maybe I should think about getting my pre-order in today while I can."  Honestly, you "sell-out" people are mad, and beyond help at this point. You're going to hear and see what you want, regardless of how many people call you out or prove you wrong. "
Did you even fucking read my original post?
I specifically said IN CAPITAL LETTERS that I am not trying to say that it was a sell-out.
Come back when you learn how to read and remember what was written, instead of indulging in fantasies on what you though someone wrote. "
And Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson repeatedly say they aren't racist. Bitching about a possible ad puts you in cahoots, whether you like it or not.

But then again, I'm indulging in fantasies on what I though you wrote, which doesn't make any sense.

" In this thread: people looking for Giant Bomb conspiracies and corruption..

They gave away a copy of the game, and let people know what came in the limited edition. I'm sure it was an advertisement, because they sure as hell didn't buy the games to give away. Every contest Whiskey has is an advertisement. GB is not a super-Indie site existing because these guys have nothing better to do. "

I was referring the part that came after the giveaway, where actual preorders were hyped for people to buy.
