Well it had to happen sooner or later, the honeymoon period is now over. Pet Sounds is a great album and Abby is wrong. I'd be mad but yet again she and Vinny are the best damn thing on the whole site.
I didn't notice the sounds of anyone eating, maybe Vinnys trial was that damn engrossing. That said, hearing people chew into a mic is goddamn revolting and I'm always amazed when people who make videos as part of their job do it.
I remember tuning into a stream of Eternal that had just started to see the guy eating directly into a mic and talking between mouthfuls, Day9 used to eat his dinner halfway through his show directly AFTER a break, it drives me crazy to have such little regard for your audience that you won't put off eating or take ten minute break to do so.
@ottoman673: People will complain about things they don't like, your assumption that said complaints are somehow disingenuous is the issue. Whether something bothers you isn't some litmus test as to if a thing should bother anyone else, if people complain about Dan alot then maybe things Dan is doing is annoying those people.
Anyone comparing him to a Nazi or Trump has totally lost any sense of perspective, I don't recall anyone doing that here but I'm certain it's happened. The closest was "losing all respect for him as a person" which is pretty goddamn ludicrous on it's own, in those cases you and I are in total agreement.
Anyway Dan can be great, there's a time and a place for his heel shtick (ideally in videos I'm not watching), some people need to ease waaaaaaaaay back on their weird hostility towards the man, and some people need to realise that complaining about a piece of entertainment is hardly a new baffling phenomenon they've never done themselves.
@ottoman673: The complaints are almost universally about one thing and your take away from that is... people just want a reason to complain? Not that the one thing annoyed people to varying (sometimes lunatic) degrees?
It seems weird to tell people to relax about a video when you're so put out about comments on said video you've decided they're are involved in some elaborate pointless ruse, occam's razor be damned. Get a grip.
@frytup: Go check any XCOM play on youtube and see how many use names viewers submitted. The naming of soldiers and the building of stories and personalities around them is built into the game and a core part of it's appeal, especially when watching rather than playing.
The episode is hardly the disaster everyone's acting like, he at least played the mission OK. Changing the name was lame but the real shit moment was Vinny having to convince him not to leave their only sniper behind.
The fact that we just got a sense of how good things would be with Austin and Abby makes Dan's shtick seem all the more tired.
