I did the math for their personal GotY lists:

It's close, but Rorie (he had an unranked top 5) changes the results a little more than I wanted to. Still wanted to include him.
You know what, I like this list better. I actively dislike MGSV but I could take it getting top spot if it meant Life is Strange, Axiom Verge and Bloodborne made the list.
Would've loved Axiom Verge in top 10, but I hope that the additions to Ori make it their 2016's Old Game of the Year because I think Axiom Verge really took the wind out of Ori's sails.
The Ori dislike felt strong amongst the group sans Brad, and I, too, got super frustrated with the long, no-checkpoint areas, but I enjoyed the other parts so much that I willed my way through them. Biggest complaint was the abrupt ending, but the soul link system really kept the momentum going in that game to where I would have less fear of making bold platforming moves. I think it eventually made me a more confident player of those types of games. Axiom Verge had me questioning whether or not I could get to the end of it with the difficulty spike toward the end, but then I found the one or two guns I needed and everything was frankly trivial from there. It was like a Deep Impact/Armageddon situation and I think both games suffered in terms of visibility because of it.
