Guy who's never played DOTA but has played LoL with a question: Are the characters mostly returns from DOTA 1 or completely new? Also, what, if any, are the core differences between DOTA and LoL? Liking the graphical style from what I see.
They're all from Dota 1 yes. One of the main fundamental differences is creep denying - so when you get last hits in LoL you get gold and experience, but in Dota you can last hit your own units, denying the opponent of gold and experience.
Aw man, really? I don't want that!
Guess I'll have to stick to LoL =/
Also you lose money when you die. LoL is for let's say "the casual" crowd. We, DotA players, don't want your kind in DOTA 2.
I hope you're joking. If not, you have my pity.
Said the LoL player... other differences are that you have to buy teleports you cant use "b" to go back. The teleports use mana there are no summoner skills if you want a summoner skill like flash you have to make an item that allows you to blink those items need mana for casting in LoL you dont need mana for items such as Zhonya's Hourglass or Deathfire Grasp you can cast them with 0 mana and there is no such thing as a brush to hide in it and i think Roshan is stronger than Baron Nashor and they give different things when you kill them. In LoL and DOTA the creep number is different you get more money for killing a creep in DOTA than LoL . I hope DOTA2 is not going to have too many noobs at high level cause i got sick of playing LoL with idiots that have more games than me and suck like crazy even in high elo they still dont understand the game and cant use their heroes.Ps: im lvl 30 in LoL with 800+ games so please dont tell me that i dont know what im talking about. DOTA 2 all the way cant wait for the beta.
The pity thing was for him saying things like "we don't want your kind in DOTA2", not the game mechanics he has to "endure" for being so "hardcore".
Him, you, and all the other people saying "we don't want new players, stay away from our game"...just, whatever. I can't even be bothered telling you what's wrong with that mentality.
The thing is that i loved playing LoL but there are so many players that cant play the game even after 1000 games its not even funny so i got tired of carrying every game and when i wanted to play a support hero or something else that you cant carry with i just loose the game if unskilled LoL players want to join dota2 they should start from casual mode and now ur going to say they will but they wont I hope DOTA2 is going to be paid so the low skill level is not going to be as big as LoL. And if you think LoL is not a casual game then im going to ignore everything you're saying... And when the hell did we say "we don't want new players, stay away from our game". We want players that are trying to get better. Ps: by unskilled LoL players i mean a LoL player with 600+ games that still cant play a champion like annie or ashe or whatever.
