I bought Sins Trinity and Gal Civ 2 over the Steam Sale. I've been wanting to try both for a while. Based on how I like Trinity, I'll make the step up to Rebellion later. I also want Endless Space, but I'm going to wait until I try the cheaper games I already bought. :)
I stopped playing for 2-3 years for grad school (2004-2007). However, when I got back into games, I got back into them greater than ever before. And it keeps increasing to where I play 20 hours a week now (all I can spare working full-time and being married), getting through a lot of games. I may have had some more time during high school and college, but I spent a lot more time with friends.. So, the break actually turned out great, and it allowed me to get some schooling, get a full-time job (so I can pay for more games than ever before), meet people, move a couple times (for school and work), meet the woman that's my wife... The downside is that my backlog is HUGE as I am still trying to catch up. :)
I've owned JC2 for a while on Steam, but I've never installed it. If I end up getting Sleeping Dogs, I guess I'll just install JC2 first, as well. Hopefully, that will get me to play it, since I really do want to but just haven't had the chance. :)
YAY! First daily deal after Summer Sale is Jade Empire! It was one of a few games I wanted a good discount on during the sale. Great way to help get over the Summer Sale withdrawal. :P
Looking at what people got and how much each person ended up spending (including me), it reminds me how quickly small amounts add up. That's why I kept a spread sheet this sale. I knew that it would add up very quickly. I didn't have a max budget, though, so I only stopped myself for a couple of games that I knew I wouldn't get to before the Winter Sale. :P
This probably isn't the place to ask this, but I'm stumped where else to ask this and it might seem like a simple question, but I seldom use Steam.
Anyways, if I've bought a game on steam (Civ 5) and buy the expansion from a normal retailer, will the expansion work?
Yes, both the main game and expansion use Steamworks. So, if you get a retail copy of the expansion, it comes with a key that you have to register with Steam anyway.
Anyone want to see my Steam haul...? I've been through several Steam sales. However, this is the first sale in which I decided to buy almost all of the games on my wishlist as well as some games I currently own in physical form. I'm switching completely to digital, so I figured this was a good time to get digital copies of some of my games. :)
