Trails in the sky 1 is one of my favorite games ever. I remember how sad I felt when I saw that bombshell of an ending and worried I might never get to see the conclusion lol.

I'm currently making my way through Cold Steel. I think its surprising that despite looking so much better it still captures the same feel of the Trails World.

I generally have a pretty good tolerance for older games. For instance, I played Shenmue for the first time last year after having been interested in it for ages and I thought it was great.

The most notable exception I can think of is Beyond Good and Evil. Tried playing that for the first time last year as well and i thought it was trash.

I wasnt a huge fan of TLOU1 but most of this outrage seems dumb.

Why are people even looking at spoilers for a game they were excited for in the first place?? If story details had leaked for a game I was looking forward too I'd be avoiding any mention of it at all.

I really loved this game and think it's one of the best exploration-base puzzle games I've played but I will admit I had to use a guide a few times. It wasn't really so much that I looked up the solutions to puzzles though because I was able to figure most of that out by myself. Sometimes though I felt like I was just running into a wall trying different things and just wanted to make sure I wasn't just wasting my time.

Still, I definitely get the praise it's received.

I played like 1 hour of animal crossing but was too invested in other big games in my backlog to give it much attention.

In Other Waters is the only game to come out this year that I've finished. Really cool game, not likely to be my favorite at the end of the year but it worth checking out if you're into mostly text driven games.

The Outer Wilds has so much to explore but the content is provided at a pace that makes the 22 min time limit less restrictive. I keep finding new things but I'm not really sure where they're leading me.

Not really that much into SW but that game was awesome.

@ijkay15: That's a good one. I think the Catherine soundtrack has some nice chill tunes as well

I like Bloodborne the best because of the atmosphere and the gameplay style. Demons Souls is second because I played it right when it game out and the memory of experiencing that kind of gameplay for the first time still stands out.

As for the rest of the games I have no real preference. They're all fantastic but none have made an impression as much as the ones mentioned above.

Almost done with Persona 5 after over 115 hours and even though it has some issues (gets pretty easy if you know what you're doing and some of the writing can be kind of cheesy) it's pretty much the perfect JRPG for me and the best game since Persona 3. It's also cool that I waited to play it until now because I'm currently locked in at home and this is one of the things that has helped me stay sane. I've been thinking about what I'm going to play next but I might just do a NG+ or try Royal.

Also started playing in other waters in between. It's very slow and requires a bit of imagination but its aesthetic is very pleasing and soothing. Definitely not for everyone but quite a unique experience regardless.
