I don't understand why you pay money for something like GB when you plan on just gutting it later. And also, this actively pushes away the audience and makes your current employees worry about their futures - if you're still working at GB, how confident would you be that you'll still have a job in the near future? Don't they start looking for work elsewhere?

I'm no businessperson, but it seems like Fandom fundamentally misunderstands what they have, which makes me wonder why they bothered in the first place.

Came back to the site for something in the wiki and I figured I'd poke around a bit since I never come here anymore. I sort of can't believe there aren't guest top 10s this year - maybe there's some rationale somewhere on the site, but without knowing what that rationale is, it's making it seem like I made the right choice to move on.

I completely get that they're understaffed, so expecting a bunch of quick looks is unfair, but man, there are so many games from the early to mid 2010s that I discovered only because of this site, and it seems like a lot of that discovery has been lost.

A good example is a game that almost no one will remember called They Bleed Pixels. Patrick and Jeff did a QL of it back in 2012. I had never heard of it prior to the video, I don't think I ever heard of it anywhere else, but I bought the game because of the video, and I really enjoyed it. Or another is Flywrench, which Austin and Vinny did a video of in 2015. Great game. I think Idle Thumbs mentioned it briefly, but it was Austin's enthusiasm that sold me on it.

Again, I get that you need staff, and that staff has to be interested in such things, but in addition to all the goofy stuff that they used to do around here, I really valued videos like that, and they're almost completely absent. Everyone and everything changes, and I don't expect Giant Bomb to remain the thing it was for forever, but that's why I haven't been a premium subscriber in a while.

Something broke a few days ago, so when I search for hosts for tagging a video, Brad doesn't show up anymore.

Man, it's crazy to think how long it's been. I still remember how I came across them - I had spare time at work in the evenings, so I started listening to the GameInformer podcast, since I was familiar with the magazine. They didn't have many episodes at the time, and they were short, so once I made it through all of them, I did a Google search for other video game podcasts, and the Bombcast came up, so I gave it a whirl. The rest is history.

I haven't been around as long as some people - this was in early 2011, shortly before Patrick came aboard. I was in a WoW bubble for most of the late 2000s, so I wasn't playing anything else at the time. I started listening to the Bombcast, and they introduced me to a bunch of games I never would have known existed. Super Meat Boy, Antichamber, Fez, Shadow Complex, Hotline Miami, etc.

They've been a constant every single week ever since, up until the last couple of months when I've cove to realize that working from home actually gives me less time to listen to podcasts because I'm not commuting and walking around while on my lunch break. So I'm less plugged in than I was before.

Which is a long way of saying that I wish nothing but the best for all three of them. It's so weird to feel like I know them because I've listened to them talk for so long, but I've never met any of them. I can't imagine trying to do the sort of work they do for a few months, let alone for years and years. Hopefully they find something enjoyable and fulfilling, whatever it is.

I would like to chime in to say we should have the ability to disable autoplay. I love Giant Bomb, but autoplaying videos are among the worst design trends of the last few years, and not presenting an option to disable autoplaying videos is even worse.

I played this game on 360 back in the day, but I recently talked two buddies into buying it on PC since it's so cheap, and we've been playing co-op. I can't speak for them, but it runs great for me.

Holy jesus that's a long review. I'm still curious about the game, so I'll have to actually read this later today.
