I'd be interested in a Vita for the remote play thing, but I will not be gouged on those memory cards. I hope the price cuts are significant.

It looks good in theory, but nothing there seems especially interesting (except maybe Watch Dogs). I don't know that I've ever seen a launch lineup with so many direct sequels (Sony is equally guilty of this).

I don't quite have the same fondness for it that everyone else does - I don't dislike it by any stretch of the imagination, but when I think about it, these two things come to mind: 1) it's one of the many, many JRPGs I played on the SNES. I loved all of them at the time, but I don't trust my memory of them because I know how acute nostalgia is and how it clouds judgement. 2) It's quirky as hell and has a tone that couldn't possibly be more different from the other JRPGs I was playing at the time. I liked it a lot, but not any more than, say, Secret of Mana. I just really liked JRPGs back then, and I absolutely loathe newer JRPGs.

I can't even fathom trying to deal with the vitriol that the internet generates, especially if you're someone that speaks without thinking (not saying Phil Fish is that, because I don't know him, but he strikes me as such).

This really bums me out for two reasons: first, I thought Fez was a brilliant game, and I want Phil Fish to make more games. Like Patrick, I suspect he'll come back, but I have no basis for thinking so. Second, Phil seems to want the same thing I want: a site where it's just games being discussed, and most of the other stuff is ignored. I found Giant Bomb because I was looking for a better podcast, and I ended up saying because the site doesn't publish shit like "Top 10 Zelda Bosses" or have a member whose persona is an "annoyed gamer." Phil likes Giant Bomb - look at his Twitter feed and you'll see him talk about the site occasionally. While I can pretty much ignore everything else - I don't go to IGN or GameInformer, for instance, because I don't like those sites - his name is brought up routinely in stories on those sites, and when they're talking shit about him, he sometimes feels the need to defend himself. Maybe he doesn't do it in the most political way, but if it was just accepted as fact by a large swath of the internet that you're an asshole, would you be political about it? How many people that claim he's an asshole actually know him? All I have to go on is his Twitter feed and his occasional quotes in stories, and judging by that, he isn't an asshole. Just someone who is sarcastic and the target of a lot of abuse.

I never knew I could be so sad about the passing of someone I don't actually know. He seemed like a legitimately great and passionate guy.

I want to say how sorry I am, but the words seem hollow coming from some anonymous internet guy.

You will be missed.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Joking aside, that's actually pretty cool. I'd still buy the PS4 before the XOne, though, because I feel like Microsoft is charging $100 more for a piece of hardware (Kinect) I couldn't possibly care less about.

After playing XIII, I swore I'd never play another Final Fantasy game ever again. That stands until I hear the words "this Final Fantasy game is fun and isn't so melodramatic."

I sort of wonder if I'm just too jaded to even watch these sorts of events. Nothing really piqued my interest during this event other than Dragon Age, and that's more curiosity than anything.
