  • My favorite comic book hero just got better in this gripping, story driven game made by Rocksteady. Absolutely nothing wrong with it; gameplay (gadgets, gliding etc.) is superb, the FreeFlow combat system is flawless and finding riddles is no where near as tedious as it might sound, not to mention the game's stunning visuals.

If you don't already have it, buy it. Now.

  • I'm not a fan of most sport games. The Tony Hawk series was the only "real" skateboarding game I knew. When I picked up Skate 2 for 40 bucks preowned (please note that I never played the original Skate), I was actually under the impression that I was about to waltz into yet another Tony Hawk, combo based skater coma. Instead I ended up playing one of the deepest skateboarding games ever made. The animations on the tricks are incredibly realistic and the "flickit" control scheme, while suffering from some minor inaccuracies, still manages to deliver a relatively smooth skateboarding experience.

  • After playing CoD4, I commended it for its deep single player and multiplayer experience and I can't say I'm surprised with the hype surrounding MW2. After playing the single player, I was actually a bit disappointed considering the predictability of the story and I didn't feel that bond with the characters you played as since you switched between them so much, although it was very exciting getting to play as Soap once more and have good 'ole Captain Price back. The multiplayer is much better in terms of gameplay but the experience system still has its flaws, if not more than its predecessor. The lack of dedicated servers has many up in arms, however I find myself on the fence about this issue, mainly because I don't play many multiplayer first person shooters to begin with. Oh, and you can shoot down UAVs.

  • I actually don't own this game. I was intending to buy it but was put off a little bit because of the awful level of detail on the console versions and having the possibility of my piece of sh!t laptop not being able to run it. Anyway, I played a short burst of single player and multiplayer and I have to admit, it's a pretty sexy blend between your standard RPG and Shooter. I agree with Jeff Gerstmann about the lack of a secure trading system though; you could drop a good item for a friend and have some jerkoff steal it and then leave the server. With that in mind, this game is much better suited to be played just with friends. The story is quite bland from what I've played, which is quite sad since some of the bosses are well written and very original. Although, recent DLC releases (which I haven't played, just watched the Quick Looks) seem to show lots of improvement in the story area. From the looks of it, if you intend to buy this game then you should also intend to get any new DLC for it. Other than that, it is an extremely ambitious game that has done a great job at trying to mix RPGs with Shooters. Also, the cover art is awesome.

  • Really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. I didn't play many new releases this year, mostly playing past games or prepping characters and stories for next year's games, such as Mass Effect 2. I was actually excited about this game, the whole concept of hijacking helicopters and then laying waste to city streets had me sold. I am generally entertained by sandbox-hero games such as this, the over-the-top jumping, speed and adaptive parkour is great fun. Hell, I spent the majority of the game just running around because it looked so cool. Transforming your limbs into different weapons is also a lot of fun, although every new weapon has higher damage, so you will be using the same weapon most of the time. The visuals aren't great, considering this was supposed to be competing with inFAMOUS, but overall this game should steal a maximum of 9 or 10 hours from you depending on how much exploring you do for collectables.
