This is making me sad and nostalgic, but it's good news for Vinny and the site as a whole, right? Best of luck to you, Vinny. This new future is exciting and terrifying, but we'll all adjust. I'm thinking the Bombcasts are gonna have to start implementing a Skype/Google Hangouts solution though. It's not as good as having everyone together in a room, but we all need to continue getting updates on Small Business Man. And getting Patrick and Alex on more often would be most welcome. Wishful thinking? :/ I hope not.

The whole aspect involving AI team members scares the crap out of me. When can you ever rely on AI to do anything right? I think it could potentially ruin the entire game unless you can heavily babysit/micromanage them as if playing the XCOM turn-based game. All it takes is one glitch or bug involving the AI and you could lose your veteran soldiers. Good luck 2k.

A good point. Though I'm starting to warm to the idea of this game, that is a pretty daunting obstacle for them to overcome. Normally shooters get around their dumb AI by just making them invincible. If they're going to put an emphasis on permadeath in a 3rd person shooter, their AI needs to be really reliable. Only time will tell, but the continual delays don't do much for my optimism.

I'll be interested to see what they've got, but I find myself realizing that I probably won't get the next Xbox.

The devolution of the dashboard into something akin to a Nascar chassis, and the drastic decline in the quality of downloadable or exclusive titles leaves little to entice me besides the ability to easily play with friends. And I've only got a handful of them that I play with regularly...most of whom I play with on Steam as well.

If the always online rumors are false and they ditch the subscription I'll consider it.

Agreed. I'm still very skeptical of the next Xbox, and not just because of the rumors. The direction Microsoft has been headed for the last 2-3 years has not made me really excited to buy new hardware from them. And I'm certainly gonna wait to make sure the hardware isn't a mess out of the box like the 360 was. I'd rather not go through 5 Durangos...

I'm of the opinion that Alex is the best Giant Bomb writer, and if the GOTY podcast appearances are indication (and setting aside the occasional live event awkwardness, which is understandable) maybe even speaker. He's generally great at conveying his opinions in a coherent, open-minded, and nuanced way -- something the main staff (in my opinion) haven't been great about recently.

He's grown on me over the last few years, and I'd love to see him make more appearances. Keep it up!

I feel like the main staff just don't always express their opinions super well because they tend to agree so often. They all seem to be on the same page a lot of the time, so they don't always have reason to articulate all of their points in fine detail. I'm talking about on the podcast though. In their writing I don't really find that to be an issue.

The possible loss of cool exclusives worries me. On the one hand it's great because I only will need one console really, as most if not all DLC deals are just timed exclusives. On the other... I kind of like having all systems in my house. Makes me feel total nerd. In a good way.

Love supporting great games no matter where they are. I like the idea of 'needing' different types of systems for certain games. It makes me appreciate (or dislike) all the features the systems have.

I like a little diversity with how I play games, is what I'm saying I guess.

There's something to be said for that, I think. Personally though, I'm ready to be done with it. I've long since given up on playing Nintendo games because of platform exclusivity. It just gets too costly to justify owning every platform. I'd prefer to do 90% of my gaming on my PC from here on out, if I can.

And yeah, of course I said "impracticably" in my question. That is something I would do...
