I liked it alot, heck I even liked the ending. Though the little kid finding her at the end was a little cheesy and just used to throw in another jump scare. Also it had Glenn Howerton from its always sunny in philadelphia in it for a short amount of time, though he was shot in the face.

"Contrary to what it says at the beginning of the film.

It wasn't based on a true story.

But it was inspired by an event in the directors childhood where a stranger came to his home asking for a person and he would later find out that empty homes in the neighborhood had been burgled."
It was also based on the Keddie Cabin murders I think.

"He's a joke/needs attention. That's all. His movies are terrible, he just digs into old wounds for sensationalism. This isnt the 60s and you're not a victim, Spike. You're a little bitch."

Dont get me wrong, I think he has made some good films, but the whole thing he had with Clint Eastwood when he accused him of not putting any black soldiers into letters from iwo jima and flags of our fathers was a bit silly of him. Letters from iwo jima was about the japanese side and flags of our fathers was about the men who raised the flag on Iwo Jima so I can understand why Clint Eastwood didnt put in any black soldiers and why he said Spike Lee should shut his face. Spike Lee even responded to the shut your face remark by saying "We are not on a plantation." WTF? What does a plantation have to do with anything? Sorry Spike Lee, I like your movies but I think you are over reacting a bit. What do you guys think?

For those who saw it, did you notice that the whole film was actually a prequel to another Vin Deasel movie the Pacifier? At the end when he is taking care of the 2 kids, it looked like it was a huge epic set up to the Pacifier!

"The only press this thing got was the director telling people how crappy it is. You can't be surprised."
The director even said it was crappy? That seems like a silly thing to say.

I saw it yesterday, absolutely awful movie. The main girl in the movie had the most annoying way of talking, I wanted Vin Deasel tp punch her in the mouth. The plot didnt really explain anything and the movie seemed to invent its own logic seeing as most of the movie didnt make much sense. Also the oh so clever religious metaphor near the end when the main girls secret is revealed was beyond stupid. The action was ok, nothing special.

Overall I give it a 1 out of 5.

Any Frank Zappa fans here? I have been a fan of his for a few years, there is nobody else like him around today. Shame he died.

"  Was has been your favorite film this year, FilmGuy?

I've been pretty disappointed with this summer's flims. The Mummy was half-decent, Hancock was uninspired, and Indiana Jones destroyed the franchise. Iron Man was cool, though. I've seen alot of other, non-action/superhero films this year, but I'm a little brain-fried at the moment. Can't remember them.

In Bruges, Transsiberian, The Bank Job, War Inc, and Midnight meat train are my favorites so far this year.
