  • FinalDasa created the new list Games I wish I could "un"play with 7 items
Throughout my life I have been playing games on almost every system, and no matter how vigilant I was, what precautions I took, it always happened. A bad game, not just any bad game, a horrendous game. And here are a few that I have yet to force myself to forget.

  • Idk, I agree with Jeff's review and will end up buying this game some day in the future.  But I don't like the overall multiplayer design, mainly because I've never enjoyed the idea of giving people advantages who are already winning. So while I enjoy all the additions to the online experience that certainly isn't a key feature for me.  Thats where the single player experience is supposed to come in, the ...

  • What excited when I saw this at E3 And still excited after this quick look No one has been giving this game much of a look because of all the other "big" games coming out But I think this will be one of the heavy weights this holiday

I wonder this often, why have video games changed to be such a common experience to a much more divided one.
The answers often vary, we didn't have such a fevered pitch of console wars back in the day. Today we have 3 companies competing for the top spot, the 360 and PS3 fighting for best gaming/entertainment console and the Wii striking a whole new category of gamers. Way back when it was only Nintendo doing the heavy lifting, eventually Sega came with it but could never do more than put a dent into consoles like the SNES and N64. Then Sony stepped up to the plate and dropped heavy hitters like the PS1 and PS2.

But I feel one undiscovered reason for why games don't feel or play the same, and that comes to the developers.
Now I have some of the greatest respect for what developers do, my current plan is to actually become one. They work the hardest and get little show for more than credits we all skip through at the end of a game.

But with respect, like a lot of things, you must earn it. A long time ago I remember a developer being asked why he made a particular game and his response was pretty simple, it was the game he wanted to play. And that really seems to be the key, these guys and girls are gamers themselves, so wouldn't they have a lot of insight on what makes a game awesome? So I would encourage all developing companies to make the games they want, not what might sell units.

The evidence is everywhere that games are no longer made for fun. Remember when every game was 1-4 players? (within reason of course) Well no more, even games with co-op can only be played with someone online, a feeble attempt for more game units to be sold. A cheap cop out if you ask me. Games should be focused on the fun aspect, not the technical aspect, not about features, but about fun. I ask myself that everytime I look for a new game, does this look fun? And thats what developers should start asking, is this fun? Not will this sell?

Basic Tower Defense (XBLM)
If you like challenging yourself with small strategy games, you found it in Crystal Defenders. It has your basic class system found in most tower defense games, your Warrior that does heavy but ground only attacks, archers which to medium but air-only attacks, Mages that shoot their spells causing splash damage. ...

Perfect Transfer (XBLM)
For 800 MS Points you can download Peggle right now, and straight up you really should. Just stop reading and start downloading. This game provides hours of entertain and challenge that even some $60 games cannot provide. When you first start up Peggle it looks fairly simple. You control only one ...

A solid hit and great addition (X360)
A good chunk of us have played a Banjo-Kazooie game before and we all remember just running around, collecting whatever it told us to, and destroying anything in our way to beating up that annoying witch of a boss.So needless to say when I put in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, ...

Put yourself in the middle of a city in the grips of a full scale zombie cluster-fuck. And what you get is Left 4 Dead.In this shooter you get game design not normally seen on consoles. We are all used to having a few AI characters who get in our ...

50 Cent fails so hard its not bad (X360)
After Bulletproof it seemed that as long as you pandered to the right crowd hard enough it doesn't matter how bad the game is. Only problem is people can and will catch on quick to how bad something is, which leaves the bad taste of Bulletproof all over 50 Cent's ...

Lackluster has never been more amazing (X360)
If Halo Wars came out for the PC the laughing still wouldn't have stopped quite yet. You could still hear the chuckles in households and apartments from gamers everywhere. But of course it was built up and produced just mainly for the 360 and that is something you must keep ...

Has cold feet. Literally, not figuratively. My feet are FREEZING! Okay, now that is figurative and not literal, otherwise they'd be as cold as ice (which could be taken both figuratively and literally)
