The circle is complete and the great hero's journey is at an end. Alex has become the hero we deserve.

Ranked matchmaking is supposed to be taken seriously as a concept. Your performance is gauged and rewarded or punished depending on your level of play. Those rewards are then displayed and you feel as though you're getting better and accomplishing something. Any outside influence (cheating, lag, poor design, glitches, map design, weapon design) that "ruins" or thwarts your progress through no fault of your own is pretty disappointing. So much so that many people take to the internet to angrily lash out (possibly because that's the only emotion we know how to represent when online).

Personally I am not very competitive. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy winning and I enjoy playing something at a high or advanced level. And any interference that isn't of my own or from fair and balanced play that interrupts that can be frustrating. But I'd rather have fun before I won anything. If I walk away from a game of matchmaking, ranked or otherwise, and feel like I had fun then it doesn't matter what the end score was.

I think being lead by an evil and powerful secret organization of force users is a pretty good start. And the whole taking over the galaxy using backhanded tactics like galaxy wide war where millions, probably billions I guess, die doesn't help their resume.

In the first three films they are just the bad guys to play foil to the good guys. Darth Vader isn't shown to have anyone to answer too and other than vague mentions of 'The Empire' and their Death Star they aren't much more than Nazis. Stormtroopers is a name taken from Hitler's brown shirts who were often called Storm troopers and whose official name, translated into English, is Storm Detachment or Assault Division.

The first film, A New Hope, follows a specific path called The Hero's Journey. Lucas had read several books explaining this narrative through line in a lot of hero fables. That narrative always included a brash, raw, and young hero who needed the guidance of an older, wise, teacher who would die and provide further motivation to beat down the ultimate evil in the story.

So boiled down Lucas borrowed a lot of his ideas. The imagery and names of his evil forces are taken directly from history, his overall narrative is one found in story telling throughout history, and the story itself, eventually, explains and reveals the violence and oppression the Empire performs.

Buzzfeed is the wrong way to do lists. And forcing me to click through pages of your 10 item list is the wrong way to do lists.

Lists are not a bad format to present information in especially in the low attention span age of the internet. Unfortunately it is often a crutch for websites desperate for views. I think you can do plenty of lists and still provide meaningful content.

None of them are on streaming and probably won't be for awhile.

The originally trilogy might hold up well but I'm not sure how they would look to someone new to the series. Especially the first one, A New Hope, since the production values were limited. If you can borrow someone's Blu Ray or DVD I'd suggest watching A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back and then moving on from there if you're still interested.

The newer ones, the prequels, are fine and since they're newer might be easier to watch. The acting and storytelling is a tad weaker in those movies, especially the acting, and how serious the movies take themselves skyrockets.

He works there now. I'm all for supporting Patrick wherever he goes but we don't need a minute by minute update on everything he does at Kotaku.

If you wanna keep up with Mr. Klepek then either go to Kotaku or follow him on twitter.

I think this thread has had enough now that we're talking about artist integrity rather than the artwork.

I changed the thread title to reflect your actual question.

But to speak to your forum concerns. Any post on any forum board will show up if someone goes to the forums. If you flick on the 'Forums' button on the top right it will show you every thread currently being discussed and your Trackmania 2 thread would also show up on the front page as long as it was being actively discussed.

We won't be combining any wiki pages since a lot of these games were released separately and as different games.
