I will admit it, I have not been blogging as much I used to. There are many reasons for that to be honest. For one, my work schedule has been extremely busy and I have not had the chance to post anything while at work. I work at a company that has been under-staffed for a very long time and thanks to the American Credit-crunch it affects my job in a negative way. The other reason is my time has shifted focused to my second job, working at a Canadian Video Game Site.

I am a reviewer for a site called Game Focus; it's a small Canadian site that originally started as a French Language site but earlier this year introduced an English portion to the site. The French site is quite popular and is the anchor but the English side is slowly picking up steam. Working for a videogame site as a 'freelancer' is not as easy as it seems. Considering I have my own full-time job and all other sorts of responsibilities, it can be quite tough to review and write up news articles for the page. Since I started there in early September I have reviewed: NHL 09, NHL 2K9, Castle Crashers, Time Hollow and Lost in Blue just to name a few. I also recently posted Beta Impressions to CoD: WaW and I have three reviews upcoming (all sports titles). I am so swamped, I haven't had a chance to play Spore, Dead Space and to finally finish Mass Effect, which is disappointing.

When I was blogging, I typically was doing it at G-Spot, but since I haven't had time, I wasn't visiting the site too often. For one, I have begun to really disapprove their recent review crew. It seems like GameSpot is under such problems that they are relying on Freelancers to do most of their reviews (except for key titles) and it seems that each one of them has some sort of Vendetta and feel it's necessary to give games a harder time. Even their regular staffers are going the extra mile to 'prove their point' by giving games low scores (eg. Being the site to give Wipeout HD the lowest score it has).  Even the moderation of the site is getting on people's nerve. I thought the whole 'Kane and Lynch' issue from a year ago was over, boy was I wrong. I came to the point that I am now pretty much avoiding their site except to read other people's blogs - that is if people were posting.

Coming to Giant Bomb this morning, I was surprised to see how many of those Bloggers that I was reading there are actually posting here instead.  I do remember people talking about coming here and leaving the Spot, but I was surprised to see how much truth was behind that. I guess I need to follow suit and start posting here instead of there. This being my first blog since Aug. 10, will hopefully be the beginning of something new. I will try to post more often and I will also try to post on other's here (as it would be fair), but if I am not around, you can still find me at my work site.

In my opinion, the site I really enjoy going to right now has to be 1up. Yes, of the 'big 3' gaming sites, it is the PS3 of the bunch, I still think their staff are very interesting and they do a lot of cool things. I love the large variety of pod-casts, each one of them I subscribe to (even Legendary: WOW podcast). If you haven't heard their pod-casts, you should, in my eyes the best and most informative Pod around (specifically 1up Yours!). Giant Bomb is in my Top 10, but the 1up Radio Network controls the list.
