2020 is almost over and I think the only 2020 release I played was the C&C remaster.

I still haven't listened since I have absolutely no relationship to or interest in the two albums covered so far, but is it just dumping on albums that are considereed bad or is there room for like, a nuanced discussion or reappraisal of reviled albums? If the latter is the case, I'd definitely love to hear a discussion of Billy Idol's Cyberpunk, Ministry's With Sympathy (or the more recent From Beer To Eternity) or Skinny Puppy's The Process (which I still personally dislike a lot, but know a lot of people have come around on).

Huh, interesting. I have no memory of reading a written review, only the video review, and that's the only one linked on the Battlefield 1943 page too. I see that written review linked on https://www.giantbomb.com/words/?type=reviews&page=49 though. Wonder if it was linked to a release that has since been removed or something? It seems to have been broken since at least 2017.

Found this archive of it at least: http://web.archive.org/web/20090717103352/http://www.giantbomb.com/battlefield-1943/61-25262/reviews/

My first bad purchase was a budget release of Harrier Assault that had a virus on the floppy. The game itself is pretty good though.

First bad game I bought would probably have been Conquest Earth: First Encounter, which while it had good ideas (I think it may have been the first RTS where you could bookmark areas on the map and return to them instantly, and not only that, you could set up a split screen mode so you could see up to four parts of the map at the same time) and a great soundtrack just wasn't finished, and even as a kid I could tell that. The pathfinding was awful, and the AI near non-existent. Your units wouldn't fire at the right times, like, if you ordered a unit to attack an enemy, they wouldn't move closer so that they could actually fire at them, they would just open fire and hit nothing. They also wouldn't retaliate when attacked.

I also really regretted getting the PC port of Halo 2, found that game incredibly bland after actually enjoying the port of the first game.

Odd, maybe you've got an adblocker blocking it or something? Try whitelisting static-mt-rv-v1.giantbomb.com, though since it's the same top level domain it shouldn't be an issue.

Purely based on how much time I've spent with it, it would probably be Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

Breath of the Wild is definitely up there too, spent a lot of time with it, but after I fell off, I had little desire to go back and finish it, whereas I keep coming back to Civ VI year after year.

Evochron Legacy is another one I keep coming back to. Despite its obvious limitations as an indie space sim made by one person, it kinda hits all the notes I wish No Man's Sky and Elite Dangerous did, and perfectly managed to handle both offline single player and massive multiplayer servers without compromising on either.

Another new show announced - Hot Takeouts, hosted by VoidBurger, is going to be a gaming opinion/analysis show. The tweet mentions takes like "The Super Mario Bros. movie should be considered canon" will be discussed.

Oh, that's rad! Been a fan of her Let's Plays since before I knew about Giant Bomb.

Also, get the launch version of Dragon's Dogma while you're at it. Dark Arisen is good and all, but the original's theme song is worth the price of admission alone.

There's a good collection of the classic Doom games, including Final Doom and The Master Levels, called Doom Classic Complete.

I also love the Soldner-X games, Amiga style euroshmups. Very German and very fun.

Team 17 also put out a great collection of classic Alien Breed games on the PS3 and Vita, it's just called Alien Breed (there was a reboot in the late 2000s called Alien Breed Impact/Assault/Descent, which are also on PS3. Not as good but decent too, those three are also part of a collection called Alien Breed Trilogy on PSN).

Datura if you want some weird experimental Demoscene stuff, and Thexder Neo if you want a remake of a pretty unique late 80s mech platformer where you can transform into a plane.

Definitely would love to see it, but Sony's interestest don't seem to line up with mine very much. They've got so many franchises I'd love to see return, but have zero interest in what they're currently doing.

Assuming we're talking about when it officially became Giant Bomb rather than Arrow Pointing Down, it would be 4:23 (AM) in GMT, as the "Welcome to Giant Bomb" article was posted on March 5th, 2008 at 9:23 PM (PST).

So, three minutes late.
