E3 2010 Most Anticipated Games

Fjordson: E3 2010 Most Anticipated Games

List items

  • I'll admit, I'm a bit of a Metal Gear fanboy, but the thought of a non-traditional MGS game set in that universe seems potentially awesome.

  • Always interested in seeing new core games that aren't focused around shooting, and always been a big fan of Team Ico.

  • Mass Effect 2 was excellent across the board so I'm anxious to see if Bioware can top themselves. I know. This probably won't show up, but I'm sure as hell hoping for at least some kind of teaser.

  • I loved the first one. Brutal horror done right. The devastated city setting has definitely piqued my interest.

  • I know, I know. It's more Halo. I have to admit that the campaign side of things in the franchise hasn't excited me much for quite a long time now, but I still find myself a big fan of it's multiplayer. As for the aforementioned campaign aspect, I'm hoping the darker tone and new cast of characters can help deliver something fresh for the series.

  • Always been a big fan of Carmack and id. Everything shown thus far has been great, definitely want some more dirt on this game.

  • MMO fans who don't quite jive with World of Warcraft have been out in the cold for a while now. The juggernaut has no signs of slowing down, but I'm hoping The Old Republic can use its Star Wars license and the Bioware touch to create an MMO able to compete against WoW.

  • This is an interesting one. We don't know a whole lot about how this will play, or how it will differentiate itself from all the other modern day shooters, but I loved the original few games and hope that this is a return to form.

  • My favorite super hero game of all time is back. I'm slightly worried that they won't be able to duplicate the fantastic atmosphere and setting of the first game which was such a huge part of what made the game so great. But other than that I'm definitely excited to see what's in store for the Caped Crusader.

  • The first game was great. It really came out of left for me. I rented on a complete whim and ended up buying it two days later. The electrical powers were a blast and made the combat really satisfying. Also, the story and characters ended up being surprisingly engaging by the end of the game. If they can create a more interesting and dynamic city for Cole to wreak havoc in than the first then I'm all for this sequel.

  • All of the gameplay clips I've seen have been very impressive visually. Also, really love the flow of the game. Between the guns, melee attacks and the leash-esque item the combat has a nice rhythm to it. Not quite sold on the generic characters and "over the top" dialogue, but I think the mechanics could deliver in a big way.

  • The first Deus Ex is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Period. After the terrible letdown that was Deus Ex 2 this has a lot to make up for. We really don't know much about how the game will play, so I'm staying cautious about this one. Still, the early trailers are stunning and really seem to capture the feel of the original Deus Ex.

  • Dude, it's Shinji Mikami! Reason enough to get excited, and I was a really big fan of Bayonetta. Looks to continue that game's tradition of fast paced combat with a healthy dose of Japanese ridiculousness.

  • Itagaki is an egotistical bastard and some of the Team Ninja games to follow in his wake have been a case of style over substance, but the debut gameplay trailer looked very cool. Not much else to go on right now, but I do have a soft spot for the man in charge. At the very least we'll get an E3 interview filled with classic Itagaki quotes.

  • My excitement for this is similar to my excitement for The Old Republic. Sure, this doesn't have a name like BioWare behind it, but I'm all for MMO's that want to try and present an experience different from traditional examples of the genre.

  • The Castlevania series is responsible for some of my favorite games of all time. Plus, I'm extremely interested in finding out just how extensive Hideo Kojima's role will be in the creation process.
