I'd say to try and power through. I almost completely gave up as well but the Soul stages that let you get your health back make it not so bad once you get used to the few attack patterns he throws.
This is my exact opinion as well. Sadly the gameplay itself felt like it was actively trying to push me away. Also I apparently killed someone (was surprised/pissed to see at the end of the game I was LV2 and had NO idea how) so if I want to play through pacifist as I had originally intended I have to start all over. :( That said my issues are totally subjective and based on the fact that I have zero interest in bullet hells and therefore am terrible at them.
I like everything about it except the act of actually playing it. It's funny, has a cool gimmick, has a ton of heart, and the music is really great. But man, I found the boss fights and puzzles to be almost universally tedious and just something that I wanted to be done with.
@mike: The mobo was selected because it was one of the few matx that supports sli, which I've since decided isn't something I care too much about. Thanks for the build, checking it out now!
@mike: Sorry I wasn't more specific, I'm definitely firmly in the nvidia camp for video card. I meant processors. I know Intel tends to eat AMDs lunch on the high end but historically AMD has pretty much always had some hidden gem of a budget proc that could perform great/OC real high. I was just wondering if there is a current example of that
Thanks for the skylake vs DC tip, I think I will def go that route. As for the SSD, I already have a 500GB SSD from a laptop that broke down recently so the SSHD would be more secondary.
I'm fine with OC, I used to push my early model P4s pretty hard lol. just been out of the game for a while. I would LOVE if after tax I could get it down to about $900 but know that's not super likely. 1080/60 on just about any game in existence through 2016 is what I am aiming for.
I just noticed that I should be able to save some cash by switching the mobo from a LGA 1151 to an LGA 1150 and going with DDR3 instead of 4. Will the new skylakes work in an 1150?
It's been a while since I've built a new PC and I'm not as current on whats available as I'd like. I put together what I think would be a pretty good rig but would love to be able to shave a bit more off the price if possible. I'd like to stay micro ATX, would like to keep the 970, and would like a mobo that could take a second 970 in the future in SLI. That said everything else could be modified if there is a cheaper but comparable option. For example I threw one of those brand new skylake i5s in there but know nothing about skylake or if it will benefit me much. Maybe there's some hidden gem of an AMD CPU out there I don't know about that's hella cheap and performs beastly. Maybe not, IDK.
Here is my newegg wishlist. If anyone wants to take a look and give feedback, I'd really appreciate it.
