Sony can't really do shit, if the publishers are demanding PC style DRM.

They could. Publishers go where the market goes because they are greedy as fuck. If 50 million people bought the system with no DRM and 5 million bought the system with DRM, guess which one pubs would make games for?

For the longest time, PC games were treated like afterthoughts and publishers had the freedom to use all the DRM they wanted on PC. Why? Because console games made more money.

I really wish this would happen but it won't.

That 13 year old fuck yelling about your mom on Xbox doesn't give a shit about DRM and his absentee fuck-tard of a parent that buys the games doesn't care about DRM. All they will see is shit like "the game from the makers of Modern Warfare is an XBONE exclusive." What happens if Madden is only on Xbox? Or something like GTA? What was the quote about Microsoft investing 1 billion into games for the Xbox one? I'm pretty sure 2k would take 200 mil to make GTA 6 an Xbox exclusive for example.

The "gaming" community snickered and laughed at Kinect much in this same fashion and that thing sold 20 million units no problem. The bottom line is all the assholes that gave Microsoft a free pass from shit like red rings, paying more for Xbox live, and things like Netflix behind the pay wall, are the reason Microsoft knows that the internet will piss and moan but in the end they can do what ever the fuck they want and you will still buy there shit.

Video games as we knew it are dead and it fucking sucks.

If it is true that retailers are going to have to give Microsoft a cut of the used games sales, or pay a re-licensing fee, Then used games are dead no matter what. Gamestop already sells used games at 5-10 bucks off the price of a new game, collects 100% of the profits, and is only having moderate business success. The only place for wiggle room is in the amount you receive for trading in the game. If that gets cut in half, or worse, people won't be trading in as many games, therefor effectively ending the used game market. Sadly, anyone that thinks this is going to be limited to Xbox is nuts. PS4 will have a similar system. If you forgot, Sony patented the tech for this process. Both companies know that "gamers" will bitch and moan and whine all over the internet about these kinds of things, but at the end of the day each and everyone of us will buy it and deal with it. I mean really, are you gonna completely give up games?

Do ya'll not already just have your consoles connected at all times anyways?

What if I bring my console with me when I travel or when I visit family that doesn't have Wifi at their house?

What if there's a problem going on with the internet at my home?

What if there's a weird network error?

What if something bad happens to the servers?

I just want to play the games that I paid money for.

My thoughts exactly. Just imagine if something like the psn hack happens to live and no one can play xbox for months? Live is probably more secure than psn, but nothing is un-hackable.

Its not the issue of being able to connect to the internet everyday, its the fact that they are forcing me to do things that they want. If i drop 500 bucks on something, i don't want to be told how to use it. to use the infamous vacuum analogy, need constant power to use it is fine. Being told that i have to vacuum twice a day or else its not gonna work correctly is the problem.

This sucks. As others have mentioned, Patrick is/was the most excited and enthusiastic member of the crew. Listening to the Bombcast has been a part of my week for a number of years now, but to be honest, I'm getting tired of Brad being to bored with things that he has to keep playing with his phone, Ryan's asshole mentality is wearing thin, and Jeff's cynicism is getting old as well. And Vinny, well he's clearly run down from being a father. (This i understand as i have a 3 year old myself. Kids are exhausting.) Patrick was the great equalizer. He brought balance to the Bombcast. A perfect example of what frustrates me is Skyward Sword. Patrick played it and discussed it on the Bombcast and he seemed to enjoy it. Everyone else was completely disgusted with the thought of even talking about it, let alone playing it. Now, I know Zelda these days is a very polarizing topic, but it's importance in the world of video games can't be ignored. And for video game professionals to openly shit on a game that they haven't played is annoying to say the least. If you care about the lore of Zelda, that game does some pretty amazing things at the end. Anyway, thats my 2 cents worth. I can't fault Patrick for taking advantage of the importunity, I'm sure anyone would if they were in his shoes. Good luck Scoops; Godspeed.

While everyone makes valid points about hdmi cables and moving the pc, I just want to point out, if you buy it again that's another chance to "vote with your wallet." The more sales a great game like this has, the more likely it is we get more original games instead of COD rip-offs.
