I've been thinking of getting a Nintendo DS Lite again (I sold the one I had months ago) but now I'm wondering if I should get a PS2 instead.  I'm interested in getting the DS Lite for games like Rythm Heaven and to play The World Ends With You once more plus it being portable so I could play in the bus.  But the PS2 seems to have an impressive library (I wasn't much of a gamer in that generation and I've never owned a Sony console) and I'd enjoy playing RPGs like Kingdom Hearts, Persona 3 and 4, and other exclusives that I never got to play (had a GameCube).  Which one would you get in this situation?

Yeah, it takes time to get used to arcade sticks if you haven't played with them very often.  But once you do get used to one it'll be way better then having stayed with the controller.

Man, you guys are starting to convince me on getting a PS2.  I guess there are some games there that I could check out that I haven't had the chance to.

"The PS2 is pretty much the system to have if you're into RPGs. You can find RPGs on other systems, yes, but you'll be hard-pressed to find one with a similar theme or style.
Maybe try the upcoming DS game Devil Survivor? "
Wow, never heard of that.  That seems to be pretty interesting.

Seems like the PS2 has the best list of JRPGS but the Nintendo DS also has a surprising list of JRPGS too.  I'd love to get a PS2 but unfortuantely that's not possible for me since I can't get a job and therefore I have no money.

Fire Emblem's social system is not at all like Persona 4's though because I believe it doesn't help gameplay-wise in any way.  I think it just changes dialogue and alters the game's endings.

Thanks for your input but what in it is similar about Persona 4 (aside from the usual RPG stuff)?  I wouldn't be able to play ot though.  I don't have a PS2. :(

Man, right now I REALLY feel like buying a PS2 exclusively for Persona 4.  But I know that would be idiotic so I must settle for the next best thing.  Is there a game, preferably an RPG, that is similar to Persona 4 in theme, style, combat or dialogue for the Xbox (360) or the Nintendo DS?  The only one I can think of is The World Ends with You for the Nintendo DS as I would say the style is pretty similar but I would love to play more games like that.

Maybe the only part for an RPG I'm searching for that is similar to Persona 4 could be the social system.  The more you associate with one character, the more powerful you become with that character or something similar to that...

You can always skip one every week.  Who's forcing you to participate in every one of them?
