It's why one should be extremely cautious when looking up any information whatsoever about a game they don't want spoiled.

This is going to inevitably happen with some people with Persona 5, and they won't be happy about it.

GGs to those I faced. I've honestly not had much motivation to stick and learn Xrd, but those casuals afterwards with MikeFightNight and IrrelevantJohn were fun.

Cool, this should motivate me to play a bit more of the game.

I'm sure the recap in the game itself is quite thorough, but I don't think I have the time to read through potentially hours of back story. I kind of just wanted a real quick summary of the key players and events.

It took me less than an hour. I was unfamiliar with everything regarding Guilty Gear before I read the chronological events in the game, but I felt it did a great job of condensing everything important that happened in the series so that I could understand what was going on in Xrd's story.

Xrd itself has a complete story recap that you can read with character backgrounds, chronological events and everything. It also has a very extensive glossary for anyone wanting to know more about specific concepts, locations or characters in the game.

The continuous blinking is only in Arcade mode, and one cannot turn that off.

The intros look like that intentionally, to provide a more authentic anime look. You can read about everything that went into creating Guilty Gear Xrd's look from a translated developer article here.

I can record most of the matches in 60fps if people show up around the same time. Probably can stream it too.

That'd be cool. I might set up a time when people should arrive in the IRC so that I could direct them to a lobby to have their matches streamed.

Checked in.

So how does this usually go down? Do we all hook up in a lobby at the same time? Or are we responsible to communicate with our opponent and work out a time to get our matches in?

Might be a dumb question but like I said before, I'm a first timer.

It's a bit weird to me as well since there were a lot more people with previous tourneys I organized and this one is more low key, but I usually really recommended that people should go in an IRC client like this one and, this time, the channel would be #gb_ggxrd. There was a tourney where I think I DQed anyone who wasn't in the IRC when the tournament was going on, but I think it'll be just fine if people get their matches done through any means, whether it's just through PMs and/or the IRC.

Once the bracket's set up, I'll be able to give some deadlines, but they probably won't be very rigid given the number of people participating. Heck, if people are on the ball and are willing to, we could potentially get this done before Sunday. There's not going to be a dedicated streaming this time, so people are free to have their matches whenever.

I recommend that people just idle in that IRC channel once the tournament starts, though. Makes things easier for everyone. I'll send another PM about this in a bit.

Also, I should say that it'd be neat if PS4 players (or anyone with the ability to) could record the tournament matches they have and upload them.

@l1ghtn1n: @irrelevantjohn: Heh, I just got spammed by Challonge as well. The check-in process was supposed to start hours ago; I specifically put 24 hours before December 19th at 3:05 AM EST, but ah well, this is fine.

Currently sending a PM to everyone involved. Someone by the name of "JoeBombable" signed up, but I have no idea who that is.
