LOL... Some half-wit on YouTube actually thinks "Land of Confusion" is a cover of the Disturbed version... Dude obviously wasn't brought up in the 80's with vinyl records and Phil Collins.

I'm guessing they might try to get both guys on board, both Dave Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar ?... its the only real way they would be able to do it. Unless the only real person in 3D on stage is Van Halen and they get some 3D Jobber to come in and do the other parts.

I actually agree with you on the copyright stuff on YouTube...

With the interenet being a Global phenomenon it shouldn't have region locks on it.  I get the whole deal with DVD's having Region locks due to the amount of time it takes a movie to get to the UK after its released in the USA these days but videos on YouTube ?... c'mon.

If your gonna restrict the viewing to one country... and one country only... why f-in' put it up there in the first place ?.

Yeah I think they could be done right... It's just how they go about it...

For me they have to utilise the Split-screen nature properly...

Take Madden for example... I think that if you had the action on the top screen and then on the bottom you had the playbook.  You could select your play from the bottom screen and then use the D-pad and the buttons to play the game.

Fifa could have like the action on the top screen and the bottom screen could either be the radar showing you your players formation... substitues bench etc.

Baseball could be the bullpen... or you could get fancy and have like the strike-zone on the bottoms screen and you had to tap the screen where you wanted to aim for with your pitch or you swing... something like that.

@Jeff  I remember back in the glory days of PC gaming, the Virtual Pool series of games had a bit on the box that said that if playing the game didn't improve your real pool game you could claim your money back.

Wonder if anyone ever did that ?...

"Ok, just looked it up.  this game is gonna let you import or unlock or something the wrestlers from the current games, but there is gonna be no Diesel or Razor in addition to no Randy Savage.  This is just making me sad.  No diesel but they have Brutus beefcake?"
Yeah they confirmed on the Bombcast that if you had a save from last years Smackdown title on your 360 hard drive it would unlock all the wrestlers from that game in Legends of Wrestlemania.  So like Jeff said you could have Hunter Herst Helmsley .vs. Triple H or Old HBK .vs. New HBK.  Stuff like that. The imported characters would use the new Legends of Wrestlemania control scheme though.  I'm pretty much guessing that this stuff is on the disk so they are just looking for the save to act as an unlock rather than importing anything.

There is going to be a "Create a Legend" mode... How deep that goes remains to be seen.  I will be making a Jeff Gerstmann clone "Snake Style" if I decide to get the game.

No Diesel is a shame as I remember the huge fued he had with the Undertaker.  Razor Ramon would just make it so you could have the Outsiders.  To be honest there are a lot of wrestlers missing from this game I remember from the good ol' days.  I mean some of these guys maybe never made it to Wrestlemania but these guys I remember.

  • Diesel
  • Razor Ramon
  • Macho Man Randy Savage
  • The Mountie
  • Texas Tornado
  • Owen Hart... c'mon I mean you got Koko B Ware.. High Energy man.
  • The Bushwhackers
  • Earthquake and Typhoon the Natural Disasters

Oh yeah... and where the hell is Mr T ?

See I haven't been following Wrestling closely for a couple of years now.  I just can't get into it these days.  Last I seen of TNA it still had people I remembered in it like Sting, Jeff Jarret and Kurt Angle.

Wrestling hit its peak in the 80's and 90's I think... once it hit the 2000's it started going downhill.

Hogan is huge in this new game.  But then I think they were going for the slightly cartoony 80's cheese look for this title. Still its the controls that hurt it for me.

I'm really looking forward to getting myself a copy of Legends of Wrestlemania just because and I'll admit it straight up I love pro wrestling.  Okay maybe not the crap thats on TV now, with the possible exception of TNA, but the stuff I used to watch as a kid back when the WCW and WWF (note WWF ... none of that WWE, Get the F out, Panda shit) were awesome.  I used to get the woman across the street to video tape the Royal Rumble every year because in the UK you could only watch it on Sky Sports via Satalite. Vintage.

I've downloaded the demo and while I have my reservations about the controls, as I think maybe they dumbed it down a little too much, just the fact that you can recreate classic matches with some of the guys who I had action figures of like Hulk Hogan, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and the Legion of Doom is awesome to me.

One major concern I share with Jeff though is the exclusion of a certain Macho Man Randy Savage.  While I'm not big on the whole personal he and Vince McMahon have together, you'd still think that it being a Wrestlemania Legends game that he would be in there.  Same goes for Mankind, especially when the "Relive" section of the demo show's him as the special guest referee for the Rock .vs. Stone Cold bout.

Speaking of Jeff though... anyone remember this little skit from about 2 years ago when Gamespot still rulled and On The Spot was must see net TV ?

Awesome promo cut Jeff... Gotta Love it... SNAAAAKE STYLE !!!!

Just seen this posted up on Gametrailers.com ... a trailer to a feature length animated movie based off the Professor Layton DS games, apparently coming out in Japan in 2010.

The standout thing for me is that it says "The First Movie".  Does that mean there are more than one of these planned ?, or simply just bad English on the Japanese part.  Either way, I echo the sentiments of a friend on Twitter.  They should pour more time and money into translating the other Professor Layton games than on animated movies.  I really liked Professor Layton and the Curious Villiage and would love to sink my teeth into the newer ones.

I'll try and embed the video below... if it doesn't work then point your browser here.
