  • I wasn't really expecting much from this game. I mean, come on, when was the last time anyone made a GOOD batman game? This wasn't going to be any good, but I got it based on the voice cast and writer. Holy damn was I wrong!! The game offers the perfect blend of stealth and action while offering the art and music style I watched when I was a wee lad. I may not be a DC fan, but you can't not love Batman! It was a touch choice between this and Shadow Complex, but Batman wins my vote for Game of the Year.

  • "Mertoidvania" games are probably my favorite. I remember thinking "It'd be sweet to play a Metroid game with RPG elements thrown in". Lo and behold, Shadow Complex is announced. I was so excited for this game and it didn't disappoint. After beating it in three days, I ended up playing through at least five more times over the next month and FINALLY finding all those damn key codes and leveling to 50.

  • I LOVE action movies, so it goes without saying that the single player campaign's story gripped me right from the beginning. But let's face it, the majority of players only care about the multiplayer. That's about all I have to say about this game...it's just plain awesome.

  • One of my favorite aspects of games like this is your ability to make an impact not only on the story, but on the world around you. Sure, the story flows the same whether you're good or evil, but the way the world changes was the true draw. The story itself was mediocre, but the game play tied it all together. My hands got tired after a while from all the rumbling of blasting the ever loving crap out of everything around me. But that's half the fun, right?

  • I have to admit: I was expecting a lot more from this game having looked forward to it for so long. That didn't stop me from enjoying it, though. The visuals were very nice and the gameplay was always silky smooth. I found myself finishing every quest and even getting through the game. Oh the reaction from my friends following the countless "What's in the vault?" conversations, and the one that ended it.

  • Diablo 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. How many hours upon hours did I pour into that game? So it's no surprise that Torchlight drew me in just as easily. The story is pretty boring, though easily ignorable. Just so long as the game keeps me going into the next level of the dungeon to kill more and more enemies, I'm happy. The art style and music are very nice and familiar, and the classes are easy to use.

  • Jack Black video game = instant winner. I'll admit I didn't care much for the RTS aspect of the game, but that didn't stop me from playing. The world itself was actually fun to explore and characters were very fun to interact with. Especially the Guardian of Metal. This was another game I ended up tracking down everything in, finishing every side quest, and buying every upgrade.

  • What can I say? I'm a sucker for games that give you super powers. Running around Manhattan, throwing cars, blowing up tanks...it's a good time. The story for the game was interesting enough, and the way the bonus story was told through the web of intrigue was a nice touch. The game play itself was rather nice, as well. A multitude of combos divided amongst the different powers, various side missions, and difficult boss fights made it worth playing through again.

  • This game was the great, button mashing, beat down I needed to get me through my vacation time from work. I loved the art style, the story, and especially the multiplayer. There isn't much to say about the game, and I know a lot of people were disappointed by it, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it...thrice!

  • My guilty pleasure of the year. I've always loved the Dynasty Warriors series and this game is no different. I still prefer the formula that Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires had, but the visuals and ginormous character list more than make up for the game's shortcomings.
