Disclaimer: Some games are obviously missing. Like Bioshock 2 and such. No doubt they'd belong on this list, but I simply haven't played them yet.
Disclaimer-disclaimer: Yes I have played Black Ops, but it doesn 't belong on this list.
Looking at the multiplayer component, if Team Fortress 2 had been released in 2010, it would be the only game to top this one. But even the largely rather moderately received single player campaign left me well entertained. And wanting for more, looking at the ending.
Whoever doesn't have this gem in their list has no heart.
Never played Civ before this one. The Demo had me hooked immediately, bought it on the spot.
Everything about Minecraft is astounding. The effort, the success, the game in itself. So simple and yet so complex.
No explaination required.

Fun as hell, a true sandbox game, with room for improvements. Luckily PC gamers such as myself are blessed with the existence of mods.
After Double Agent had a really hard time living up to Chaos Theory, I had high hopes for this one. Turned out good (But still no Chaos Theory).
More like an honorary mention. This game had some great ideas and much potential. Unfortunately it tanked. Hard. What a shame.
