I'm so glad I am a premium member because now I can hear about Dan's virginity.

In all seriousness though, it's getting a bit annoying that this website is extremely Dan heavy as of late.

Ever considered that it's because Dan is the only one actively creating new (recurring) content for this site at this point. Seriously, Giant Bomb Premium content would be like a barren wasteland without Dan.

Yeah and it's kind of a problem, the amount of people streaming on Twitch or making stuff for YouTube but no other staff members can find something to run for the site? It has never been easier to capture game footage and sling a video together.

Oh yeah, I agree with you completely there. But I certainly wouldn't blame Dan for other staff members slacking.

I don't really blame Dan for having enthusiasm! It's just a bit...well, where's everyone else!?

I wonder how much of it has to do with loss of comfort? The original core of Giant Bomb was a group of guys who had worked with each other for a very long time at another website and then formed this one. Over the past few years they added a new person (Patrick) and after a while ended up losing 3 core members and the new guy they'd all bonded with in some way out of the main office. Vinny and Alex not being in San Fran is very noticeable in terms of the interactions they used to have (listen to old podcasts vs new ones, the new ones are still good but there's almost no comparison). Patrick brought a certain energy as well when they would do on air stuff and he left for Chicago just after it felt like he was finally a core member of the site as well. The site really took a blow when Ryan died and I don't know if it ever really recovered. Much like how Vinny made everything he did hilarious, Ryan was the same way and now neither of them are there at the main office to play "funny man" to everyone else's "straight man". Jeff can be the Funny man at times but it really depends. Brad and Drew are perpetual "Straight Men" which is why both work well in many cases with Dan.

Also there's always going to be other stuff going on behind the scenes that we are never really privy to that causes things to work out the way they do. Dan just seems to have an enthusiasm the site really needed after losing several people out of the main office and as such came in with a bunch of dumb ideas (which the site has thankfully embraced) that have turned into entertaining content. I do wonder about the Mario Party stuff though. It's hilarious to watch but everyone that isn't Dan usually seems so fed up and pissed off at the end and I can't ever tell if the guys are all in good spirits the next day or really dread them like it comes off.

I don't understand the love for Steph as an on air persona. She comes across as a great person when she's being real and talking about the business but ever since they brought her on TV in the attitude era and keep bringing her out year in and year out, she's consistently what makes me NOT watch WWE. No part of her is interesting or makes any feud better, all it ever does is make me mute/fast forward/change the channel until she's off the screen. What about her is so interesting?

The Music from the 2nd game was ripped off of legacy of Kage, an NES game and sped up. It's a MUCH better game.

To be fair, (as they said) WWF PPV's that aren't one of the perennial 4 big cards have been a letdown, occasionally you get 1 MAYBE 2 a year that have anything interesting. The reason it seems bad now is that because of the Network, you actually watch them all because you can. Before? You only watched it when you knew it was going to be good.

Also: Bailey is Garbage. She's not great in ring, that stupid used car salesman flailing tube man entrance and everyone saying they want to give her hugs seems forced. She's not interesting in every way.

Karate Champ was great for it's time. Say what you want about the controls, but they worked exactly as they should where as Street Fighter 1's controls were complete garbage and they didn't get it figured out till SF2... Also something to be said for a game with 1 hit to win (KC).

Just saying EVERY Metroid game that was 1st person was GARBAGE!

GARBAGE!!!!!!!!

Running around an environment trying to find missile containers in a 3rd person was akin to trying to find socks after a roommate that hates you hid them all on a house that's the size of an estate.

Please don't let Jared get this drunk before a podcast again... Was really hard to get through with all his high pitched Jared'isms.
