Well I'm going to group up with the haters for that last segment. I don't care to watch/listen to drunken folks in person so watching them online isn't going to be any better. It's also nothing we haven't seen before (actually like most of the other segments to be fair, it's not like the industry changes that much in a year so repeated guests don't have that much new to say).
I did watch all three nights and really am impressed with Jeff and his ability to host six hours of content a night even if some parts were not to my taste. The things that I liked the most were Phil Spencer talking about minecraft and Sony's refusal to allow crossplatform play due to "won't somebody think about the children!" excuse, Janina and Jeff playing tug of war for hosting their segment together and her involvement in games and finally the portion with PlayerUnknown and Vlambeer for being a nice talk about game development.
The amount of "Haha, Youtubers and Twitch Streamers are lame, am I right guys?!" going on was a bit much for me. I can't believe that people in this industry would rather see celebrities paid to shill for a game they have no interest in or connection to, rather than passionate players who are thrilled to be there and actually hold interest and excitement for the game they're representing.
I really don't want to come across as an asshole or as being too harsh on the GB crew, but I feel that a ton of people seem to have forgotten that the Youtubers and streamers weren't the ones that came up with this "influencer" or "content creator" shit. They're passionate people doing shit that they love and for the most part, they're good people building diverse, international communities. The amount of money donated to charity in the name of so called "influencers" across both Twitch and Youtube is insane.
I don't trust the science of climate change for several reasons. First reason, the scientists in question livelihood depends on man made climate change being real. So for the same reason I don't trust corporations, I don't trust the climate scientists themselves. Government funding for climate research is a HUGE industry, with government funneling billions into research facilities/universities.
Second reason I don't trust the science is because they got caught lying about the science in the climate gate scandal where internal emails came out showing them colluding to change temperature data, making old data seem cooler than it was, and rounding newer data up.
Third reason I don't trust it is because liberals have been using it as a political weapon for 3 decades.
I'm not saying that man doesn't haven't an impact on global warming, but I think it's exaggerated by the left in a very major way. I also think it's VERY debatable if the change we have and will have is a bad thing. I know we've heard doomsday scenarios, but there's no proof that climate change has negatively impacted us. Quite the opposite. The warmer the temperature, the more farmable land there is. Sure we lose some to desert, but we gain more than we lose. The hysteria over hurricanes has proven to be unfounded. The claims made about weather have proven to be false over and over. Sea rising levels. False. Weather predictions. False.
The truth is, it's an extremely complicated issue, and most people can't even begin to understand the science or the implications. It does not help that the scientist keep making wild claims about what is going to happen, and continually being wrong about them.
