This list is by no means complete or even remotely in order, so if your favorite game isn't listed here I apologize. Anyway, this list's focus is on games that have incredible soundtracks from top to bottom. Almost every game has at least one awesome or memorable tune, but this list is for those games that go above and beyond that with an entire soundtrack of (mostly) pure gold.
My love of this game borders on the irrational, but I don't care. Goemon has an incredibly catchy soundtrack that fuses traditional Japanese instruments with modern jazz and pop. I cannot say enough good things about it, seriously, it's freaking fantastic. Those of you who have had the pleasure of playing this little gem know what I'm talking about.
The Zelda series has always had incredibly catchy melodies that stick with you hours after the game is turned off, which says a lot. My favorite entry in the series is The Wind Waker. From the title screen to the final battle with Ganondorf, The Wind Waker offers one of the most memorable soundtracks in gaming to date.
Marty O'Donnell is perhaps one of the best composers in gaming. Each and every entry in the Halo franchise is accompanied by a masterfully crafted score. Think back to your first time playing Halo: Combat Evolved; you're driving around in the Warthog on the Silent Cartographer level with your buddy on the turret gunning down grunts and elites, all while the main theme blares through your speakers. You would be hard pressed to find something more epic and exciting in gaming.
