" Is anybody else sitting here reading these posts and thinking, "My God, I hope they didn't do the same thing with Mass Effect 3," ? "
Mass Effect 1 was released November 2007.
Mass Effect 2 was released January 2010 (27 months later).
Mass Effect 3 is due to release Q4 2011 (21-23 months after ME2).

In addition, the main story of ME has been planned as a connected trilogy from the start, so presumably ME3 was mostly planned story-wise before work on it started. In addition, due to positive reception of ME2 they'll be able to reuse a lot more of the mechanics than what was reused from ME1 for ME2.

I'm feeling positive on ME3 not suffering from these issues.

Small warning: While all PS3 games are not region locked, their DLC is. So for any game that has DLC, make sure to buy a copy from the same zone as the zone your PSN account is on.

(You can still get a PSN points card online for another store and buy the DLC from there if you need to buy a game from a different zone for whatever reason)

Also, Pixeljunk Shooter is great.

@LightRain: PS1 classics on PSN.

Also, as someone who has never played it and is somewhat interested, does it still hold up?

" If you can't find it new then I think it's morally okay. Buying a used PS1 game from ebay for $100 won't give the game dev a penny anyway. However these days it's getting easier and easier to buy old games legitimately through PSN, VC etc. "
i don't think the devs for those PS1 classic on PSN are getting the money, instead it goes to the publisher who owns the IP. The guys who are doing the porting are probably in-house workers or some outsource'd mercenaries. "
This argument doesn't take into account all the work and money that it takes to bring the game to the online store (licenses, debugging for it to work on emulator, etc). In addition, what's wrong with paying the publisher who owns the IP? The publisher either payed the developer for making the game or for buying the IP / game rights off the developer. By paying the publisher they have more money to spend on other developers and other games. In addition, the more people buy games from an old series the more chance that publisher green lights a new entry in that series.
