@dgtlmeatloaf: TV isn't dead, but is losing "market share" day by day. Data caps will improve as better infrastructure is established. They already don't exist in many countries in the world.

This isn't even mentioning that audiences are moving away from classic TV Guide style television and towards services like Netflix, which Microsoft showed no improvements for.

Every single Twitter user I've ever talked to uses it solely to follow people they're interested in, not to talk to their friends. Twitter is basically useless without having a lot of followers, and people who aren't celebrities or who produce internet content don't have people interested in following them. There are better ways to communicate with groups <10 people. That twitter article is flawed in the most basic way.

Both 3DS and Vita have their strengths and weaknesses. I think the Vita's main strengths ATM are PS+, fighting games, hopefully Killzone, Persona 4, and indie games like Binding of Isaac and Spelunky. The 3DS has first party Nintendo titles like Fire Emblem, Mario 3D Land, Link to the Past 2, Kid Icarus, as well as third party games like Layton, Phoenix Wright, and Monster Hunter.

I personally love my Vita, but I think the biggest swing is which previous generation of the handheld you have - both the Vita and 3DS support backwards compatibility with the PSP and DS respectively, and they both have enormous back catalogs of great games. If you had a PSP and not a DS, I'd recommend picking up the 3DS if you think it's an even remotely close choice.

@haltiamreptar: It's around 2-5% that pay for everything, 15-20% that pay for some things and the rest pay for nothing.

Varies by game obv.

Thanks, article was great :)

I think there's a group of Let's Play viewers who watch them instead of playing and buying the game, especially for story based games. While there are also people who buy games because of Let's Plays, this is still a valid concern and is probably part of Nintendo's decision.

Also, there have been plenty of Let's Play videos before monetizing them was even possible, so :/

@starvinggamer: I bought BlazBlue because of the story mode. Ditto MK9 and Persona 4 Arena, and I intend to do the same for Injustice. I don't buy fighting games that don't have a single player component larger than arcade ladders.

Some games require it. It's listed on the back of the box. Most of the ones that do are 3-4 GB, some more, some less. I'd recommend at least 60 GB even if you're only interested in exclusives.

I don't think I own anything special. I guess I have a coffee cup with my name on it that has some characters from the mobile games the company I work at made, but they're hardly iconic characters, so...
