@jay_ray: I agree the timing feels a bit sloppy just to get a cameo in, but I could still see them getting on board. Leia being near the battle, especially on the flagship, seems a bit more crazy to me. I always figured they got the plans from a smaller group fleeing the Empire, and the chase continued from there, but I guess the canon is now that her ship was in the battle. I'm cool with it because it makes for a great climax, even if it falls apart if you think about it more critically.
And yeah if there's any real major thing that sticks out to me as not being great it's that the characters aren't as developed by the end of the movie as I would have liked.
I think it makes a lot of sense, knowing how she behaved in the original trilogy and where she ended up later on. Not flying or fighting on the ground though, she's got leadership qualities apparently.
I liked the movie and how it ended - but its not a movie I want to see again if I can help it.
