I want really Jazzpunk.
I've always loved The Elder Scrolls games and the now classic Interplay Fallouts, so when Fallout 3 came out from Bethesda I knew it had to be epic. Fallout 3 delivered ten fold, it's honestly one of the best games ever made. The OBLIVION engine meeting the post apocolyptic future was a match made in heaven. Not only does Bethesda's Fallout capture the soul of it's predecessors, it makes it's own and expands tastefully. In Fallout 3 you play (from birth, yes you start as a baby) as a recently exiled resident of Vault 101 that explores the vast nuclear destroyed wasteland that has become Washington D.C.
Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.
This game has a feature called V.A.T.S. to where it basically freezes time and you analyze each limb of whoever your aiming at's body, load up a limited to your stats amount of shots then fire away! You get AP(action points) which you can upgrade through a specific leveling style to ensure crippling through V.A.T.S.
Fallout 3 is also extremely graphic . You can not only amputate limbs, but go the extra step and crack the head open and pick up the brain stem/jawline/eyeballs. Your character can take and become addicted to drugs and booze which actually hinder your skills when withdrawl sinks in.
The weapons are a trip, everything from Mini Nuke Launchers (FATMAN) to Sledgehammers ensuring a variety of death in the wastes.
As great as it is stand alone the ABSOLUTELY ONLY way to go is the game of the year edition. Fallout 3 without DLC ends after story which just sucks.
It's also worth mentioning the mods for this game on the Nexus website make this game a timeless pit of never ending fun.
Just an epic game which i recommend for everyone.
