The Wild Bunch Special Edition Blu Ray Review

Mostly doing this for quest points though may actually start doing game reviews.

The Wild Bunch: Special Edition on Blue-Ray

4/5

Much more of a John Wayne Western than I remembered, some of the plots really go nowhere it seems (such as Pike's Partner hunting him down, which is really only explained in a rushed flashback scene). The extended edition had way too much filler, and was rightfully cut in theatrical versions. The ending after the shootout is slow and really stalls much like the ending of another John Wayne move "The sons of Katie Elder."  Honestly this would have probably been a 3 1/2 out of 5 except for 2 reasons. Like Giantbomb I don't give out half stars, and the final shootout was pretty epic. For it's time the shootout was considered so bloody reports of people throwing up in theaters were not common. By today's standards it's a non-issue and illustrates how far cinema has progressed in tolerance in the past 30 years.

I know yeah. The guy was the film rep too. I sent him a message telling him A- Heat's position in the most recent Best Films Ever list, and B- That he was an idiot.

Your review is much better than my measly one, though on your comments page some idiot thinks Heat is a bad movie, I say we go and beat the crap out of him for even suggesting such a statement.
