The immune system is amazing

So there's actually a biological reason mothers kiss their babies: They do this to sample the bacteria and viruses that are present near the baby's mouth. Once these nasties are inside the mother's body, she produces antibodies against them. These antibodies then get mixed into the mother's breast milk, and make their way back into the baby, helping him/her defend against the nasty stuff. Mother nature is quite amazing.
