This post is just for the quest reward, BUT here's hoping I continue writing in it.
 
Who misses space sims? I know I do, there's a bunch of MMO style projects in the pipes Black Prophecy and Jumpgate Evolution being the most prominent i've been looking forward to. Eve Online isn't quite what I'm looking for, I like that game in theory everything I hear about the game is badass. Problem is once I start playing it gets pretty boring pretty fast, the combat just isn't engaging to me and it takes a colossal effort to get anything cool :\. I look at Eve online as the Ultima Online of space sim mmos, yeah it's cool you can do all of this stuff but when 3/4 of it is so boring, what's the point.

Yeah, EVE Online is only good when you're really invested in it, especially in the social part of it (corporations and PvP). I'm looking forward to Jumpgate Evolution.

Eve Online is only as much fun as you make it, and when you put that effort in, hell it's awesome.

Freespace 2 is my favourite game ever. Especially now that it looks just as good as a modern game thanks to the fan community periodically updating graphics. Its absolutely fantastic from start to finish and is available on GOG.com. Its a pity the genre died out and from the little time I've spent with EVE its a lot of stat sheets, progress bars and spreadsheets making me feel more like a space accountant than anything else.
