To revive a dead topic, if you do the split-screen deal, you're just letting the weak character die constantly, end up in the "penalty box" and going from there, correct? You don't have to worry about keeping that dude alive at all?
Yup. I understand that, and that's the point I was trying to make as far as "meaningful DLC". You're just not seeing it out there on the market right now in a game with a heavy narratrive focus.
Yeah, I guess I should clarify. I didn't think you could just pump out the same content for more than a buck or two without it being absurd, but there is a lot of room in that game for more combat situations, especially as you get up in level.
As to "DLC with meaning", That's the real issue with most games that have great story, isn't it. The most you can usually add is a character and side journey, which, while more than Pinnacle was, is kind of the extent of what they seem to be willing to do. Maybe the best example of recent story DLC I can think of recently is Shale in Dragon Age, but that feels more like something that was totally planned as part of the game, rather than added content.
And Shepard stops that Reaper before Earth, hopefully riding that last one in through the atmosphere as he fires into it's nervous system, then triumphantly skis it down a mountain.
Doing a re-play of ME, and picked up Pinnacle Station. It had some fun stuff, and some annoying stuff, but that's not what I want to ask about.
With the better (more shoot-ery) combat system in ME2, would you play a Pinnacle Station-esque combat arena in this game? It seems like a much better fit.
I would, as playing through it in ME1 had me pining for me team's abilities from ME2. Garrus and Wrex were pretty much useless in all the challenges, and I had to take care of it all, especially in the time trials. In ME2, I feel like the characters did a much better job on their own.
