Your regularly scheduled TNT now 100% more downloadable

So, some of you (a very small subset most probably) may know that I've been keeping a list of all the games that have shown up on Thursday Night Throwdown since May of last year. I started it when I realized that the staff were not going to be archiving past TNTs on the main site. By the 3rd TNT the Ustream archive was already getting confusing. I thought it would be easier for myself, and in effect, others if I kept a convenient list of all the games that had been on TNT along with links to the videos. That way anyone that missed a broadcast would not have to go searching horribly misnamed and disorganized archives to find the videos months later.

 Ryan's pretty pumped.
Well, it turns out the Justin.tv and Ustream players suck ass. Not only are they full of advertisements, but they're laggy as all hell too. So a few months ago I decided it would be better if I just download them. Since its still not in the agenda to put these on the site, I open this to anyone who wants to make use of it.

I present Games Featured on Giant Bomb's Thursday Night Throwdown Now With Download Links!

If you find any dead links or the like, just shoot me a PM. Files are in .flv and if clicking the links don't work, do a right-click>save link as.

Will you be uploading these to YouTube, or has somebody already done that?

Posted by Gill
@Video_Game_King: A small percentage of them are. But given the way youtube places limits on your uploads, the TNTs have had to be split up further into shorter 15 min chunks.

soooo bookmarked

@Laketown: I would be very interested in switching the Justin.tv videos on my thread to youtube videos. Please let me know if anything develops on this.

@Gill: Is it alright that I use those links for the backlog of TNTs on my thread? Devildoll had started adding links already but this would speed up the process.

Knock yourself out.  It's all public domain.

@Gill: The reason I thought like yourself TNTs would be good to have a download option, was to give the users who couldn't stream the vids another option. Problem is the users who can't stream the videos can't download the vids either because it would take like a day to get the 1.3gb files. To truely solve the problem TNTs need to be put on youtube so everyone can have the ability to chose between low (360p) and high (720p) options. I also think if we had download links from youtube instead of Justin.tv it would be a lot faster to download those videos.

Sweet thanks this is great news for me since I don't usually get to watch TNT and would love to go back and watch some of the more interesting ones.

Oh man, this is great considering the latest Battlefield TNT was literally unwatchable on Justin.TV and now I can totally watch it!  Thanks a lot!  Here you go:

I've been saying all over the place that they need to put the TNTs on Giantbomb. JustineTV sucks ass.
So what's the deal? Why don't they put the videos on Giantbomb?

uses too much bandwidth

You're the best. Man, why do I feel the need to download and archive all of it forever? It's not like I'm ever going to watch them more than once... Shit, I'm a digital hoarder, aren't I?

Well, technically all the videos could be wiped at the drop of a hat. Justin.tv or Ustream could theoretically decide to change how they handle archives. So there is some case to be made for keeping them archived locally, but my HDD is already bursting at the seams with other equally useless files. Besides, I don't know the Terms of Use of Justin.tv, but couldn't Vinny just store past TNTs on one of his billion hard drives as a fail-safe measure?

Hmm, going from zero downloads to 44+ doesn't seem like 100% more to me.

Posted by Gill
@Infininja:

 But seriously, your right. I made a math poop.
Posted by TJ311
@Infininja: yea, thats 4400%! i think...

You deserve a Blue peter badge!

Oh hey! Nice! I've been wondering what happened to the ability to download TNTs. Now I can finally watch the archives without a thousand "buffering" breaks.

Posted by fwylo

Holy shit it's almost been a year for TNT already?

Hard to believe isn't it. What's crazier is that I've been lurking around this site for coming on 3 years now. That's the part that scares me.

How can 0% downloadable be 100% more downloadable? It's still 0% downloadable!

you are an officer and a gentleman.

Thank you very much. I hate the regular player, they're awful at best.

Dude, seriously if you did this with a pretty quick turn over you would be my hero.

Posted by MysteriousBob

I'd like to thank you a second time, because its so damn nice to be able to watch these without worrying when they'll start lagging.

A great service to the GB Community.

Also, does anyone who's watched a bunch of the TNT's have any recommendations for going through the back catalog? I know about the Battlefield TNT, but the others are all rather long, so I'd love some guidance through the archives.
