So I've seen 80000000 people post their own "What games I'm looking forward to the most in 2009" So hell I'll do one also. This will mainly cover what I'm excited about for the remainder of the this year. Enjoy.
2009
Many of the big titles have already came out this year. That doesn't mean that 2009 is a bad year by any means, just most of the games that were great have already came out. Like
inFAMOUS,
Killzone 2 among others.
Borderlands (Gearbox, October 20)
I'm pretty excited for this game. The only thing I don't like right now is when I get stoked for it was way before it got big hype. Now that EVERYONE wants to play it and
Gearbox is putting out a lot more trailers for it, the hype for me is wearing off. But negativity behind,
Borderlands looks fantastic. I'm looking for this to be my
Fallout 3 for 2009, it kind of his the same feel I think. I'm not the biggest fan of FPS, but he exploration of it is getting me hooked. I like open-world type games, where you can go places do what you want and kind new areas. I'm not going to say the new art style is what is pulling me into this game, because I liked the old way just was much, but what I can say is Borderlands is going to be a unique experience that we haven't seen in quite some time.
WET (Artificial Mind & Movement, September 15 <--Next week)
I played the demo not to long ago and that was really the first I have seen or played of
WET. I've heard of it and knew a little what it was about, but had no idea what the story was, who the characters were and what the fighting style was like. The demo didn't really explain any of the story or characters but it did give me an idea of what the fighting style is like, and to me, I loved it. If
Artificial Mind & Movement can fix a little problems with the movement of Rubi then I'd be happy. That's the only problem I really had with it. It looks great, sound is good, voice acting seems OK, though I'm still unclear about the story. WET seems to be full of things I like, blood, melee action and if they can pull it off maybe some humor. Style in a game is also very important to me, and from what I have seen from the game's "Rage Mode", it won't lack that at all.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Rockstar Leeds, October 20)
Yeah this is a DS game but they are porting it to the PSP, and I'm happy. One of the reasons I wanted a DS was to get
Chinatown Wars, and I'm really happy to see it being put on the PSP now. I've always liked the
Grand Theft Auto franchise because of it's over the topness that has made it famous and this game looks to easily deliver on that. Obviously I don't have a DS and now I don't have to worry about really buying a DS now, I just hope that they get the controls right for the PSP since that can be tricky at times. If they can ever put
Chrono Trigger on the PSP I'll be in heaven.
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time (Insomniac, October 27)
2007's
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction introduced me to the console Ratchet and Clank everyone was talking about. I played
Size Matters for the PSP and it was OK, I got good charm from it. ToD was a fantastic game that was challenging and rewarding, levels were fantastic and weapons were great. I'm very much hoping that
A Crack In Time does that same exact thing. Well, I don't actually mean that, I don't want it to be the same exact thing, but I think you know what I mean. The recording that Clank does seems really cool, from what I have played Ratchet and Clank has pretty good puzzles. What I really want out of A Crack In Time is that I hope the put more of that fantastic humor into it, which I know they will so why am I worrying!
