Favorite Games of All Time

This is a list of my top favorite games of all time.  This list is reverse ordered, with the best game at the bottom.

  1. Super Mario 64

  Invented modern 3D games. I spent a ridiculous amount of time just spending time in its 3D worlds. After 5 minutes of seeing this game, my mom was convinced to allow me to buy a Nintendo 64 (along with my brother) after forbidding me from owning another video game console (I already had NES and SNES).

  3. Super Mario Bros. 3

  I was 8 years old when I received my Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas. I had the flu. The only thing that made me feel better was playing Super Mario Bros. 3.

  4. Valkyria Chronicles

  It takes something really special to crack its way into the top 3 of my favorite games - let alone a modern game. Vakyria Chronicles is the game that I bought a PS3 for. I had my eye on this since the day I saw it announced. It is amazing that it turned out to have such a great story, endearing characters, and innovative gameplay that it captured my heart to become one of my top favorite games of all time.

  5. Chrono Trigger

  Ah, Chrono Trigger. This is the game that single handedly got me started on RPGs. Unfamiliar with anime at the time, I was drawn to the incredible artwork I saw in the pages of Nintendo Power. The illustrations alone and the gameplay tips had me convinced this was a game I had to try. This game was my RPG conversion. Nobody beats Chrono Trigger. Nobody. Well...there is one.

  It's Super Metroid. If you haven't played it, you aren't a gamer. If you don't agree that it's the best game of all time, you're wrong.
